Job Description
Montgomery College, Central Services Campus, has an immediate need for a full-time Annual Fund Manager in the office of Foundation and Development. The work schedule is 5 days/40 hours a week. This is a Non-Bargaining, Exempt, grade 29 position. Montgomery College promotes and creates a working and learning environment rooted in the basic tenets of fairness, diversity, and inclusiveness. This position is eligible for telework up to two (2) days per week after successful completion of initial employment probationary period.
The Annual Fund Manager provides leadership in designing, implementing, and evaluating an annual giving program that will build a long-term base of support for the College. The Annual Fund Manager will strategically solicit financial support from a broadly defined prospect pool. The program will cover a variety of solicitation methods, including direct mail, digital communications and fundraising, parent and family giving, and other creative uses of technology to increase total annual donations and gift revenue from community members, alumni, parents, employees, friends, and other segments. It may also include limited use of targeted phonathons and crowdfunding to grow the donor base.
Key skills include organization - for example executing all steps of direct mail approval in sequence, strong follow up, and communication skills.
Position is responsible for raising $850,000 in current use scholarship funds and general funds through direct mail, online, phone and face-to-face solicitations and by increasing donor participation numbers. This metric is subject to change depending on annual or overall campaign goals.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Develop current best practices for donor retention, acquisition, and growth. He/she will improve direct marketing and use of multi-channel communications in any and all new opportunities, utilizing the assistance of a contracted vendor(s).
- Manages annual giving donations under $25,000.
- Manage all direct mail and email solicitations.
- Manage data lists and reports for solicitation.
- Stewards current use scholarship club relationships, student attendance at events with scholarship office.
- Responsible for email solicitations and other online activity.
- Handles current use scholarship donor or student questions
- Work with foundation finance and gift processing on annual giving reports, issues, and related topics.
- Update foundation website with new or updated content on an ongoing basis.
Maintaining small portfolio of donor prospects with annual leadership gift capacity ($2,500)
- Plan and implement 5 personal visits per month to employees, donors, alumni, and scholarship clubs to cultivate relationships or discover new ones.
- Manages the employee giving program, presents at college events, department meetings, groups and one-on-one meetings.
- Communicate with donors on an ongoing basis via email, mail, phone, and face-to-face meetings.
- Maintain records with colleagues using contact reports, direct mail lists/reports etc.
Other duties as assigned
- Take ongoing professional development courses or online learning in annual giving.
- Coordinate with other development officers and development directors when appropriate.
- Supports management of student assistants.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Three years of professional level experience in development/ fundraising/sales with a demonstrated track record of success.
- Thorough knowledge of fundraising principles and practices, development, program planning and direct marketing.
- Demonstrated success in annual fundraising.
- An equivalent combination of education, training, certification and/or experience that provides the required knowledge and expertise to perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.
- Possess high standards of integrity, credibility, and reliability to articulate fundraising priorities, opportunities, and aspirations with clarity and enthusiasm.
- Possess ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities and meet various deadlines.
- Make excellent first impression and develop sound, enduring relationships with a range of people.

Salary Range: $69,668 - $90,580 annually. Initial salary placement is based on candidate experience and internal equity. Please include a complete resume/application including all relevant or related experience
