Position Information The Resident Director (RD) is a full-time, 12-month, live-in position and serves as a member of the Residence Life Professional team. The RD is responsible for resident orientation to community living; resident counseling; policy enforcement and adjudication; day and night on-site crisis response; student programming; student staff recruitment, selection, training and evaluation; housing management and special projects. The RD provides a variety of support services to the residential students and assists with the management of the housing program. The residential facilities include residence halls, apartments and family housing.
Please Note: This is a four (4) year contract appointment with the possibility to be extended for one (1) additional year for a maximum total of five (5) years.
The full salary range for the Resident Director position is $54,200.00 - $93,200.00 annually. The expected pay scale for this position is $54,200.00 - $55,000.00 or up to $55,000.00 annually. Salary offers are based on a variety of considerations, such as related education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

Minimum Requirements Thorough knowledge of advising and counseling techniques. Ability to develop original ideas to solve problems. Abilities in project management, problem identification and reasoning skills. Skills in judgment and decision-making, problem solving, identifying measures of system performance and the actions to improve performance. Knowledge, skills & abilities to manage crisis and emergency situations. Knowledge of student conduct administration best practices and ability to independently process and adjudicate student conduct cases. Thorough knowledge of Student Affairs/Student Life specialization.
Preferred Qualifications Strong knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs and knowledge of University and departmental principles and procedures involved in risk assessment and evaluating risks as to likelihood and consequences.
Knowledge of University processes and procedures.
Demonstrated understanding of student development theories and practices.
