General Description: The Director of Dual Enrollment, Outreach and Recruitment (DEOR) provides leadership for NOVA's contract dual enrollment program and collegewide outreach and recruitment activities. The Director reports to the Vice President of Academic Affairs/Chief Academic Officer (VPAA/CAO) and supervises staff who are responsible for promoting, facilitating, improving, and monitoring NOVAâ™s dual enrollment, recruitment, and outreach efforts in high schools, on campuses, and in the community. Duties and Tasks:Provide leadership for the Office of DEOR. Work with school district personnel, administrative leadership within NOVA, and key stakeholders in the community to advance college dual enrollment programs, high school and community outreach, and student recruitment.Manage contracts with local school districts, manage staff, and monitor data and provide periodic progress reports. Ensure that dual enrollment instructors and courses are in compliance with college, Virginia Community College System, NACEP, and SACSCOC standards.Oversee all strategic planning and implementation of recruitment and outreach activities for both traditional and non-traditional adult (modern) students.Conduct regular timely evaluations of programs and operations and makes appropriate changes as necessary.Responsible for maintaining strong communication and information flow with campus partners, unit staff, and all other relevant parties and units throughout the college and the community.Gather data and prepare reports on program activities in collaboration with the Office of Strategic Initiatives (OSI).Program administration includes student recruitment as well as development of and student participation in program events and workshops in accordance with program-wide calendars.Manage the DEOR office budget and supervise associate director, coordinators, and other staff within the unit.
KSAs:Strong knowledge of high school and community college academic programs and structures.Superior communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex or challenging information with tact and skill.Excellent writing skills.Ability to multi-task and to produce accurate, high-quality work in a timely and professional manner.Solid project management skills.Demonstrated experience and skill in supervision and budget management.Required Qualifications:Earned masterâ™s degree in Education, Educational Administration, Business, or related field from a regionally accredited institution.A minimum of five years of experience as a teacher, administrator or counselor at the high school or college level.Previous experience working with a dual enrollment program, similar high school/college partnerships, or community outreach and student recruitment activities.Five years of supervisory experience. Superior verbal and written communication skills.
