The Highlights The Housing Facilities Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of day-to-day Housing facility and project issues, including, but not limited to project management, student staff supervision, building inspections, work orders, and procurement relating to residence hall buildings, furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
Is This You?
Manages residence hall furniture, fixture, flooring, and equipment condition inventories to include inspections, inventory tracking systems, preventative maintenance, replacement schedules, and small scale project oversight. Creates and maintains necessary written procedures.
Responsible for vendor management (appliance, laundry, cable, flooring, furniture) as it relates to preventative maintenance and projects. Coordinates vendor project schedules, deliveries, procurement, vendor agreements, and necessary purchasing documentation.
Coordinates large-scale residence hall project management to include opening/closing, temporary housing, capital renovations, furniture procurement and replacement, and flooring replacement. Procures and manages inventory in storage facilities. Collaborates with Housing Services and Facility Operations staff on logistical planning of projects, schedules, labor, purchasing, and other resources.
Hires, trains, and supervises student facilities crew, including generation and oversight of work projects and appropriate student service schedules.
Manages student staff emergency response and response to facilities emergencies afterhours (floods, power outages, fire safety, etc.). Provides afterhours and holiday/weekend coverage to response to facilities emergencies and support staff in hall safety and security issues.
Manages the student work order system and conducts appropriate follow up with students, hall staff, and facilities staff to ensure resolution of outstanding issues. Submits and processes work requests. Performs monthly building inspections.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Your Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree required; degree in business or facility management preferred.
3+ years of facility management or university housing management experience required.
Managerial Responsibilities
This position directly supervises 7-10 student employees.
Other Skills & Abilities Required
Ability to visually inspect housing facilities on a regular basis in order to report work order issues.
Occasionally ascends and descends stairs while conducting inspections.
Ability to make and hear calls via radio communication.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access)
Strong verbal and written communications skills.
Ability to organize several projects and tasks with multiple deadlines in a high-volume, changing environment.
Ability to effectively interact with students, parents, colleagues, vendors, University staff and faculty.
Ability to provide student-centered customer service.
Appreciation for and commitment to multiculturalism and diversity issues.
Must maintain confidential information.

This position requires regular evening, weekend, and holiday coverage on rotation to respond to operational emergencies. On-call coverage rotation is shared between 3 live-in staff.
