In this role, you'll be instrumental in advancing our data modernization initiatives, collaborating with various DOH divisions and programs to align with CDC's objectives. Working alongside Data Governance Specialists, you'll establish standardized processes for equitable data management and lead training initiatives. Your responsibilities include assessing current data governance practices, developing enterprise-wide strategies for data governance and metadata management, and collaborating across the agency to meet data governance objectives, while continuously evaluating performance and policy compliance. Your efforts will be pivotal in driving our agency's data modernization efforts forward.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Library/Information Science, Computer Science, Database Management, Public Health, or a related field.
• Experience in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, modeling cultural competence.
• Proficiency gained through practical experience, academic coursework, training, or a certification in one (1) or more of the following:
  • Analytics, Epidemiology, Data Science, Data Visualization, Study/Survey Design, or closely related specialty.
  • Metadata Management, Controlled Vocabulary Development, Information Architecture, Research Data Management, or closely related specialty.
  • Data Equity, User Instruction, Adult Education, Workforce Development, or a closely related specialty.
  • Data Governance, Privacy, Organizational Change Management, Process Improvement, or closely related specialty.
