We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Project Manager/Research Associate to join our team for a fixed-term position focused on managing a Department of the Army-U.S. Army Engineer Research & Development Center (ERDC) grant project. The project centers around Potable Reuse for Water Resiliency and Self-Sufficiency, aiming to address critical water challenges in collaboration with ERDC. The successful candidate will play a key role in project coordination, research execution, and ensuring successful project outcomes.
The initial term for this position is September 1, 2023 - November 16, 2024. The term may be extended depending on the availability of contract funds.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Management:
Lead and oversee the implementation of the Department of the Army-ERDC grant project.
Develop and maintain a detailed project plan, ensuring timely execution of project tasks, milestones, and deliverables.
Coordinate and communicate with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
2. Research Execution:
Collaborate with research teams to facilitate the successful execution of research activities, including experimental design, data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
Contribute to the development and implementation of research protocols and methodologies.
Ensure that project activities adhere to the approved scope, objectives, and ethical standards.
3. Data Management and Analysis:
Collect, organize, and manage research data generated during the project.
Conduct data analysis using appropriate software tools and techniques.
Prepare reports, presentations, and summaries of research findings for internal and external dissemination.
4. Budget Management:
Assist in managing project budgets, tracking expenditures, and ensuring effective resource allocation.
Collaborate with finance and administrative teams to ensure proper documentation and compliance with funding requirements.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, protocols, and correspondence.
Prepare regular project status updates and reports for stakeholders and funding agencies.
6. Collaboration and Communication:
Foster effective collaboration between project teams, research partners, and stakeholders.
Communicate project updates, milestones, and challenges to ensure transparency and alignment.

This is an onsite position at USCâs University Park Campus located in Los Angeles, California. This position is not eligible for remote work.
The annual base salary range for this fixed term position is $63,683.49 - $75,051.46. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope of responsibilities of the position, the candidateâs work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
