Associate Director of Annual Giving - Student & Campus Life
Reporting to the Associate Director of Development, the Associate Director of Annual Giving plays an integral role in the annual fundraising efforts of the division. The SCL and Athletics AAD team is charged with raising more than $8M annually in unrestricted annual fund support as well as athletic team-specific annual goals, engaging more than 16,000 donors each year. The Associate Director will focus on growth of the donor base, retention of existing donors, and upgrade strategy in order to create a sustainable model to meet these aggressive annual goals.
This role requires a deep understanding of the mission and priorities for SCL and Athletics, and an ability to create a compelling case for Annual Fund and annual giving. A successful candidate will be a strong writer, particularly solicitation writing, storytelling, and conveying divisional priorities in a compelling way.

Key Responsibilities
- Set near and long-term goals for annual giving
- Develop a multi-channel strategy and plan for achieving those goals
- Lead a thoughtful and creative approach to segmentation and messaging
- Analyze campaign effectiveness and adjust as needed to enhance results and capitalize on time-sensitive opportunities
- Disseminate results to internal and external partners, leaders, and stakeholders
- Work with individual donors and gift officers to secure annual and leadership gifts
- Lead the division's Giving Day strategy and implementation
- Develop stewardship plan for annual fund donors
- Collaborate and proactively communicate with coaches, SCL program directors, administrators, and university AAD colleagues
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 5 years relevant experience or equivalent combination.
- Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and wellbeing.
- Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
- Understanding of and ability to advocate for the importance of the student experience and higher education.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of the practices of fundraising and individual giving.
- Excellent leadership skills and ability to work as part of a team. Open to feedback and demonstrates a growth mindset.
- Effective organizational skills, project management, initiative, and detail orientation. Curiosity and eagerness to grow knowledge base and deeply immerse self into the division.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively. Energetic, self-motivated, and engaging professional with strong multi-tasking skills and sound judgment who can effectively and diplomatically work with colleagues, members of coaching staff, high-level administrators, volunteer leaders, and outside vendors.
- Ability to appropriately handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Ability to excel while handling multiple tasks and competing priorities at the same time.
- Must be able and willing to work occasional weekends, evenings, and to undertake business travel.
