This recruitment will be used to fill one full-time Administrative Program Assistant: Event Coordinator position for the College of Forestry at Oregon State University (OSU).
This position organizes and oversees logistics for events and programming for the College of Forestry. The incumbent will develop and implement events and activities to support undergraduate and graduate student recruitment and retention; community-building events and celebrations; academic lectures; industry relations and corporate engagement; and college reputation building. Additionally, the incumbent is responsible for contracting and management of rental venues operated by the College, including the Historic Peavy Lodge and the Club Cabin. This position also provides essential facility technical management, coordination and leadership of staff, event oversight and management of events and ensuring safety for events during evening and weekend hours.
Reporting to the Director of Alumni Engagement and Events, the incumbent establishes and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders and participates or leads efforts that support the mission, vision, and goals for the College. They serve a diverse clientele, including College and OSU staff, faculty and student groups; community groups; industry and non-profit partners; agencies from throughout the state; and national organizations.

Three years of office experience which included two years at full performance level and experience generating documents; and Lead work responsibility or coordination of office procedures.
Requirements :
Equivalent experience in event planning or hospitality service; OR an equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered in place of the minimum qualification.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate and manage events.
Ability to implement creative problem solving and make independent decisions with little to no oversight.
Demonstrated project management skills, including managing multiple, competing assignments simultaneously and working under pressure.
Highly organized.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, while exercising diplomacy and discretion.
A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity, equity and inclusion.
Expertise in the MS and Google Suites and video conferencing.
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030.
Type:
Will require off-campus and local travel regularly to venues operated by the College (within 20 miles of Corvallis).
Will require event related evening and weekend work, occasional holidays, and may require fielding calls while off duty. The ability to adhere to and maintain a flexible schedule is required.
The employee in this position will often be required to (lift/carry/push/pull) objects weighing 40 pounds and be able to work on ladders and on uneven terrain.
