Participate in the management of the University and its academic programs as a member of the Council of Administrators and Deans Council. Foster and maintain relationships with clinical agencies, community partners and constituent groups. Build and maintain an innovative high quality college portfolio that aligns with the college and university strategic plans and is responsive to the needs of students, is financially viable, and embraces emerging technologies.
Provide dynamic strategic, academic, and operational leadership to faculty, staff and students within the College of Nursing and Health Sciences; plan and monitor overall budget for the College; oversee departments and programs within the College; implement and enforce contractual requirements as defined in labor/management agreements and University and system policy, and state and federal law.
Supervise the College of Nursing and Health Sciences departments and program directors as they exercise their responsibilities to plan, to propose/recommend/monitor budgets, to recruit, employ and assign faculty/staff and to oversee the development, improvement and retention of these programs.
Evaluate faculty and staff performance and provide meaningful feedback. Promote and support faculty and staff professional development and training; assess and evaluate overall outcomes and performance.
Lead the College in curriculum development and revision.
Oversee the College assessment effort and the development of outcome measures needed by accrediting and licensing agencies.
Oversee accreditation processing including the timely submission of self-studies, yearly reports, and communications to accrediting agencies and state board entities.
Oversee academic recruitment and retention processes for faculty and staff in the College.
Represent the interests and concerns of the University by serving on relevant committees and councils and at conferences and professional meetings in the Minnesota State system, state, and national level. Serve on university committees. Enhance the ability of the college to work creatively with key stakeholders both internally and externally. Develop and maintain internal and external relationships to support program and scholarship opportunities.

Required Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
An earned doctorate in a discipline related to one of the disciplines in the College. Nursing applicants must have a terminal degree in the nursing field. All degrees must be from regionally accredited institutions.
At least 5 years of demonstrated successful and progressive experience in higher education including both administrative (e.g. program director, department chair, associate dean) and full-time teaching.

Knowledge of legal policies and regulations in the health and academic settings.
Experience with alternative instructional environments (e.g. distance education, experiential education, travel study, use of educational technologies).
Ability to guide assessment and outcome measures needed by various accrediting and licensing agencies.
Experience in securing and managing external grants and other sources of funding.
Demonstrated skills working in a diverse setting; strong commitment to diversity.
Ability to work collaboratively with other academic administrators to guide the development of the university.
Knowledge of accrediting processes relevant to the departments within the college.
