Job Overview
The Graphic Designer creates materials across all platforms in print and digital for the Office of Advancement's donor and alumni audiences - compelling materials from templates and from sketches in a deadline-driven environment.
They incorporate visual cues that amplify our core university brand and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion; and collaborates with other creatives, including photographers, developers, social media managers, editors, and other designers, to develop comprehensive communications solutions and produce first-rate materials.
Work Interactions
The Graphic Designer reports to the Senior Director of Creative and works in partnership with fellow designers.
The Vice President of Creative advises the team on the university's visual identity and top priorities. The design team is part of a larger Advancement Communications team which includes editorial, digital channel strategies, UX+ development, photography, and videography teams. The Graphic Designer collaborates with other Advancement colleagues in an inclusive, team-oriented environment.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree - preference for BFA in Design or equivalent
1 to 3 years professional design experience
Experience working with non-design partners to achieve shared goals
Knowledge of digital and print requirements
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Proficiency with design software including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and sketch (Mac platform)
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Google Suite, HTML, CSS, and WordPress
