The Research Associate will play a critical role in the fast-paced and growing Mental Health for All Lab. This position is responsible for statistical analyses, interpretation of data, and preparation of manuscripts and reports for peer-reviewed publication for a wide range of research projects in global mental health.
This includes supporting the analysis and interpretation of data collected from a range of research studies and clinical trials focused on evaluating the implementation of evidence-based mental health interventions, leveraging digital innovations for improving the quality and impact of mental health services, and advancing efforts to prevent mental health problems and promote recovery among persons living with mental illness across the life-course.
The research projects are primarily based in low-resource settings in the United States and India, and comprise a range of study designs including cohort studies, quasi-experimental studies, epidemiological surveys, clinical trials, and qualitative research.
This position will be responsible for supporting the Lab in developing new research directions and establishing new collaborations in global mental health. This will involve writing and overseeing the development and submission of new research proposals for the Lab, including submissions as grants or gifts to various funders and foundations.
The Lab Research Associate operates both independently and collaboratively as part of a team, requiring strong organizational, communication, and management skills. This position reports to the Lab Directors (John Naslund and Vikram Patel). The responsibilities of this position are broad, spanning multiple time zones and working with multiple organizations and diverse stakeholders.
Lab Research Responsibilities:
Analyze and interpret data for various research projects and clinical trials in global mental health.
Prepare final reports and manuscripts for publication based on the findings of the research projects in the Lab.
Draft manuscripts and disseminate research findings including media releases, publications, peer-reviewed publications, presentations, and other materials.
Write new research proposals (with mentoring and support from lab members, including the directors) and compile the supplemental documentation required for grant submissions and gift requirements.
Liaise with funders and collaborators to support the development and submission of new proposals.
Supervise and mentor junior researchers and students in the Lab on research related activities.

Basic Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in public health, epidemiology, psychology or related subject.
Additional Qualifications:
At least three years of experience as a postdoctoral researcher or equivalent professional experience.
Record of scholarly publication, including first-authored scientific journal articles.
Expertise in research design and quantitative data analysis, including any of the following: clinical trials, implementation science, economic evaluation, statistical analyses, psychiatric epidemiology, precision medicine, etc.
Strong organizational, communication, and management skills.
