Verandah Pet Hospital in Fort Myers, FL is looking for a full-time veterinarian to join our AAHA Certified, upbeat and fun practice. We work hard but love to have fun while we're at it! We are a two-doctor hospital searching for our third veterinarian that provides quality veterinary care for dogs and cats. For those advanced surgical procedures, we have a board-certified surgical specialist that visits us. Tools that we offer include endoscopy, an in-house ultrasound, and digital dental and full body radiography.
Each doctor is assigned one of our senior techs as well as an assistant most days. We strive to meet the needs of all of our team members to ensure we maintain our long-term relationships. Our practice is a true family - we are there for each other on the good and tough days no matter what. We are proud to work with the Animal Refuge Center and have healthy ongoing relationships with all local rescues and shelters.
New grads and experienced vets alike will thrive alongside our tenured, supportive team. We also prioritize work-life balance and look to be flexible with scheduling whenever possible. Our current full-time vet schedule has no after hours or on-call requirements.
In addition, Fort Myers is a beautiful coastal town. Many locals enjoy farmers markets, art walks, paddle boarding or kayaking in the estuaries or scuba dive off the Gulf coast where you can find many coral reefs. We are neighbored by Naples, Tampa and surrounded by state parks. This is a beautiful and affordable area that offers activities for everyone.
Mentorship
For new grads who join our team, we invest our time to ensure you get the support, time, and guidance for your first job out of vet school. Our approach to bringing new grads aboard includes:
Structured orientation and mentorship program, including 1-on-1 surgical training with Dr. Highbrown.
Opportunities for Zoom calls and round table discussions with other new and recent graduates.
New grad peer advisors for networking and support as you navigate your first DVM position.
Slack group discussions to connect you with experienced vets for case reviews, connection, and advice.
Benefits
We take employee well-being seriously and offer superior salary, medical benefits (including health, dental, and vision), 401(k), employee assistance program (EAP), CE allowance, vacation, dues, liability coverage, a family-friendly atmosphere, and so much more!
