The Highlights:
Reporting to the Associate Vice-President for Faculty/Staff Engagement, the Marketing & Communications Specialist will serve to support and guide Division of Mission & Ministry (DMM) staff and hired student leaders related to specific digital and visual marketing and communication efforts to support DMM goals and objectives. This will include serving as the primary/direct manager for a small team of marketing, communications and graphic design students (2-3) working to execute related initiatives. Responsible for maintaining the DMM Website and blog site together with these student workers and designated DMM staff. Consults with DMM staff and Directors as a resource person to offer suggestions and to train and assist them in discerning and executing on a sustainable marketing and communications plans that best meet their needs and purposes. Helps to develop the scope and plan for occasional special projects outsourced to outside vendors. The expected weekly commitment is 15-18 hours when the university is in session and potentially slightly fewer weekly hours when not in session. The person in this role will exhibit a clear interest and ability to serve as a guide and mentor for student employees/interns.
What You'll Do:
Oversees, supports, directs and mentors a team of hired student workers/interns who will assist DMM staff with marketing, graphic design, and video/streaming projects, including regularly weekly posts from DMM on our blog site and ongoing posts through social media accounts.
Ensures ongoing maintenance and updates of DMM Websites and Blog site (Way of Wisdom) as well as VSI-related websites through direct intervention, planning processes, and advising others (DMM Staff and Student Worker team) in making regular updates and edits as needed to remain current and to reflect DMM Goals and initiatives.
Consults with and coaches DMM staff and their hired student leaders to advise them on sustainable and effective marketing and communications strategies that meet their goals.
Provides individual and group training and support to DMM Staff and hired student leaders to prepare them to execute effectively and independently on their marketing and communications goals and strategies and to develop of strengthen the systems and processes to do so.
Advises/consults with DMM Leadership team (VP, AVPs, Directors) quarterly to assess current efforts and advise on recommendations for moving forward toward Divisional marketing/communication needs and goals, including providing guidance and support as needed to DMM Leadership on any special projects involving outside vendors or internal partners related to marketing and communication projects.
Works with AVP to plan, monitor and remain within a fixed budget for student employees and for Divisional marketing and communications projects, including necessary software, memberships and licenses.

What You'll Need:
Bachelors degree required.
3-5 years professional experience in marketing and communications including digital media.
Proven experience and competency in website and blog site development and management.
Experience and proven skills in design and maintenance of websites/blog sites and digital web-based exhibitions.
Experience in execution and evaluation of marketing and communications initiatives, including social media.
Experience working within higher education preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Effective in teamwork and collaboration with diverse team.
Facility in use and understanding of current social media platforms.
Commitment in working within a Catholic-Vincentian university and mission office.
Hybrid work/Work from home is possible, however, in-person meetings will be needed occasionally to interface with DMM staff and student employees.
Generally, available work hours should be spread in some combination over three scheduled work days during the business week (M-F) to ensure timely completion of projects and availability
