The Department of Management and Marketing in the College of Business at the University of Wyoming invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in Organizational Behavior/Human Resource Management at the assistant level, beginning Fall 2024. Review of applications begins immediately and the position will remain open until filled.
The department seeks candidates who can contribute in meaningful ways across all three pillars of academia (i.e., research, teaching, and service). The person who fills the open position must demonstrate a passion for innovative, experiential-oriented teaching and, thus, be able to contribute to the strong teaching reputation of the department’s faculty. They will help students find relevance and interest in course material, leading to student mastery. The standard teaching load in the college for research-active faculty is 2/2. The department seeks to minimize course preps for assistant professors, as well as research-active faculty. Further, this professor will be expected to conduct high-quality peer-reviewed research resulting in publication in leading journals, in addition to other high-quality scholarly work, and, thus, contribute to the growing research culture of the department. They will also show a propensity for practical translation of their research, helping university stakeholders see value in college research. The department will annually provide competitive funding and the college offers summer funding opportunities and research grants to support research. Optimally, this professor will be expected to contribute to program innovations within the college, along with fulfilling other meaningful institutional and professional service responsibilities. UW’s College of Business seeks to revise and create programs that address market demands and the person who fills this position will assist their more senior colleagues in these efforts. However, the department seeks to shield assistant professors from heavy service demands. As such, the ideal candidate is a well-rounded academic who has an interest in helping the college build a strong regional reputation.
Interested individuals should submit a cover letter emphasizing their qualifications for and interest in the position, their curriculum vitae, evidence of teaching effectiveness, and contact information for three work-related references. Applications should be received by October 1, 2023 for full consideration.
