Who we are looking for State Street Corporate Audit is looking for a Head of Asia Pacific (APAC) region, Managing Director, to lead our Corporate Audit assurance teams in the region. The successful candidate will report to the Corporate Audit Head of International and liaise on a regular basis with the broader corporate audit division and all key regional business and functional stakeholders. Specifically, you will provide regional expertise and leadership to the corporate audit function and be responsible for corporate audit engagements that focus across all of State Street's APAC products and corporate functions. Your ability to take initiative, exercise independent thinking, demonstrate thought leadership, develop relationships and lead a team based in multiple locations will be key. In this role you will be based out of Hong Kong.
This role can be performed in a hybrid model, where you can balance work from home and office to match your needs and role requirements.

What you will be responsible for As the Corporate Audit International, Head of APAC, Managing Director, you will:
Work closely with the Corporate Audit Head of International and their management team to develop and execute audit strategy.
Manage a professional team of auditors to provide thought leadership and advise Corporate Audit stakeholders on solutions to address assurance needs.
Develop strong business, function and regulatory subject matter expertise.
Schedule, oversee and deliver timely audit engagements, including audit report and issue matrix deliverables.
Collaborate across the global Corporate Audit function where regional impact is identified.
Develop and maintain influential relationships with senior management through continuous monitoring, regional governance forum attendance and management reporting as required.
Drive employee engagement through effective team management and staff development.
Participate in department wide initiatives, challenging the department's organization, processes and services to ensure that they remain at or above peer/ industry standards.
Strengthen internal control disciplines within the corporation by influencing relevant policies, promoting education/ understanding of control concepts.
Work in partnership with business and division management across all lines of defense, facilitate effective communication and coordination and develop and negotiate solutions for control deficiencies.
Establish yourself as a trusted business partner and contribute to corporate change initiatives by participation in system and business change initiatives.
Work locally to assess and improve local regulatory reporting practices as applicable.

Education & Preferred Qualifications
15+ years internal audit experience and/or risk management in the financial industry.
10+ years Business experience across comparable organizations e.g. custody, capital markets, operations, investment management etc.
10+ years management experience.
Bachelor's or equivalent degree.
ACA, ACCA, CFA or CMIIA designation is preferred.
Additional requirements Travel within region, up to 20%, may be necessary.
