The School of Humanities and Sciences (H&S) is the foundation of a liberal arts education at Stanford. The school encompasses 23 departments and 25 interdisciplinary programs. Through our four faculty co-directors and other affiliated researchers and fellows, Stanford PACS has relationships with six schools and twelve departments at Stanford University. This allows us to leverage the intellectual assets of a diverse, world-class faculty across the University and provide a unique platform for knowledge exchange between academia, the nonprofit and for-profit community in Silicon Valley and globally.
Stanford PACS hosts the biennial Philanthropy Innovation Summit for high capacity donors, as well as the First Principles Forum which convenes founders, early employees, and investors in the technology sector interested in advancing and challenging their thinking on giving and impact. Additionally, the center hosts several public and private events throughout the year to connect students, scholars, practitioners, philanthropists, and others in the social impact sector globally.
Position Summary: Stanford PACS is seeking an experienced, collegial, and knowledgeable individual to serve as its Associate Director of Program Design to join its Effective Philanthropy Learning Initiative (EPLI) team. This position will work under the general supervision of the Director of Philanthropy Research and Education at PACS, and will lead content design and program marketing for major EPLI learning activities.The role will monitor new educational offerings in the philanthropic sector and work with colleagues on strategizing EPLI directions accordingly.Keeping a close eye on intended audience and issues in the sector, the Associate Director of Program Design will oversee the quality of EPLI public-facing content with editorial responsibilities. This position will additionally support recruiting for research endeavors in addition to educational programs offered by EPLI. Strong candidates should have the ability to identify pressing issues and needs in the donor ecosystem, draw relevant information and concepts from research, and help design and implement learning modules that promote strategic giving.Strong written and oral communication, sound judgment, attention to detail, good listening skills, and tactful approaches to customers and colleagues are required.
This is a 75% FTE, two year fixed term exempt position. This position is eligible for hybrid and/or remote work arrangements, subject to operational need.

CORE DUTIES:
Recommend and execute marketing strategies to meet business objectives.
Manage marketing plans/programs to meet business objectives, including collaboration with internal stakeholders and vendor partners.
Implement integrated marketing communications and brand strategy, across a variety of channels (i.e., digital and print).
Oversee design and production of marketing materials from inception to deployment.
Conduct market research, including competitive benchmarking, and analyze campaign/program/ service/event effectiveness used to inform decisions regarding strategic marketing direction, product segmentation and customer targeting.
Assess market opportunities and track market trends. Recommend marketing improvements based on findings.
Plan and execute events to support marketing objectives.
Manage vendors/consultants on specific projects.
Manage project/program budget(s) and coordinate invoice processing.
May oversee interns and other contingent staff; provide staff training.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience; or a combination of education and relevant experience. Eight years of relevant experience highly preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Previous experience in product, program and/or services marketing.
Ability to drive cross-functional groups toward a common goal.
Experience with project management and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Understands how to implement integrated marketing programs across channels including digital and print.
Experience with market research and data analysis.
Demonstrated problem solver.
Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills

This remote role is open to candidates anywhere in the United States. Stanford University has five Regional Pay Structures. The compensation for this position will be based on the location of the successful candidate. The expected pay range for this position is $76,000 to $130,000 per annum.The actual pay will be pro-rated based on the 75% FTE.
