The Interlibrary Loan Specialist (LIS IV) will support the department of Library Collections, Systems and Digital Services and the greater Mission and Vision of Baylor University. The position will perform daily operations related to Interlibrary Loan (ILL) activities and provides assistance to internal and external parties who have questions related to ILL procedures, services, and request statuses.
A Bachelor's degree and an active Christian faith are required. A Master's degree and two years of relevant work experience are preferred.
A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of one another.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
What You Will Do
Duties to include the borrowing, lending, receiving, and returning of library materials.
Trouble shooting issues related to ILL.
Monitor departmental email account.
Provide monthly PCard (purchasing card) reconciliation.
Maintain external and internal database information related to ILL partners.
Resolve issues between patrons and external loan partners regarding missing & lost items.
Assist with campus-wide delivery of library materials (Osofast Delivery Program).
Will be expected to independently work on special projects as assigned (e.g., ILL database cleanup, box documentation creation & maintenance, library holding discrepancy reports, shipping logistics).
Provides oversight of and direction to a team student workers. Responsibilities will include hiring, training, daily supervision, and annual evaluation.
Performs all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission.
Ability to comply with University policies.
Maintains regular and punctual attendance.
