Reporting to the Associate Registrar for Curriculum and Scheduling, the Scheduler is responsible for the development, completeness and accuracy of the academic schedule and schedule optimization. In addition, the Scheduler supports unit and campus-wide initiatives to improve and implement changes related to scheduling, registration, and curriculum. This position is specific to LMU Westchester.
Position Specific Responsibilities/Accountabilities
- Leads the development and maintenance of the academic schedule of classes each semester, including summer sessions.
- Sets-up production milestones and assist with tracking deadlines and deliverables for both physical and digital releases of the academic schedule.
- Reviews information submitted for a college/school's class schedule for completeness, accuracy, and conformance to policies and practices.
- Critically reviews and resolves discrepancies in faculty assignments, class assignments, time schedules, room assignments, and related matters which includes, correcting and/or inputting information in the scheduling database in cooperation with department chairs and office personnel, prior to publication.
- Generates various reports related to the class schedule for college, school, departments, Chairs/Program coordinators, and others as needed to assist in the preparation of the academic schedule.
- Keeps current on class schedule policies and procedures and relays information to Associate Registrar for Curriculum and Scheduling.
- Provides training to college, school, department designees regarding the scheduling process and systems used.
- Critically reviews and troubleshoots software and data problems and takes corrective action.
- Evaluates work methods and efficiency.
- Supports development and implementation efforts to effect change in policies and procedures and facilitate campus-wide initiatives.
- Assists with the development, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting and documentation of various systems related to scheduling, curriculum, bulletin and workflows.
- Provides support to development and implementation of special projects.
- Performs other related duties.

Requisite Qualifications
- Typically a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes.
- Two years of experience in a Registrar's Office in a higher education setting, including one year of scheduling experience.
- One year of experience with data management.
- Experience with Banner, Degree Works, CourseLeaf suite, Mazevo, Argos is preferred.
- Must be a self-starter who is forward thinking, organized, detail oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and communication skills and knowledge of proper business English, punctuation, spelling, and grammatical usage.
- Strong team and group work skills.
- Knowledge of student information systems, enrollment programs and scheduling software preferred. Higher education class scheduling experience preferred.
- Ability to follow-up on tasks until there is a resolution.
- Ability to work and think independently, and problem-solve.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in high-intensity environment.
- Ability to communicate information clearly, concisely and professionally, both verbally or written.
- Ability to anticipate issues and trouble-shoot.
- Ability to problem-solve, troubleshoot and analyze a variety of scheduling related problems.
- Ability to write and present academic scheduling systems-related procedures, reports and recommendations.

Salary range
$64,480.00 - $83,600.00 Salary commensurate with education and experience.
