Department Summary: The mission of the Art Department at Bridgewater State University is to engage students in the exploration of their individual creative and art historical interests. Our faculty strives to create an environment in which students can investigate a full range of creative expressions in the studio and classroom and where diverse interests in art production and art history can thrive. In addition, our faculty is committed to providing a strong global understanding of art through direct experiences with artists, art works and architecture, as well as through the teaching of studio arts, art appreciation and art history.
