1. Provide strategic leadership of the access and reference services teams, recommend policy changes and process improvements. 2. Lead the daily operations of the Library's public services unit, including oversight of the work of two librarians and department heads, several staff members, and student employees. 3. Organize and manage a research assistant program, library internships, and fellowships. 4. Work closely with the Associate Director for Access and Faculty Services in repository maintenance and enhancements. 5. Co-ordinate with the Associate Director for Access and Faculty Services and the Associate Director for Scholarly and Research Services to highlight and disseminate faculty publications. 6. Work with the Associate Director for Collections and Special Projects to develop, organize, and implement collection maintenance projects. 7. Oversee quality control and functionality of circulation related modules of the Law Library's current integrated library system, in conjunction with the Technical Services Department. 8. Together with the Associate Director for Technical Services, participate actively in ILS migration and implementation discussions with stakeholders in the university library system and the future ILS community. 9. Work closely with the Head of Reference to develop strategies for effective reference outreach and services. 10. Participate in instruction, reference, faculty liaison services, and collection development. 11. Keep abreast of trends and monitor developments in information technologies that impact access, reference services, and information delivery. 12. Participate in library planning committees and task forces and engage in law school, campus, regional, and national professional organizations, and collaborative activities, and is expected to be professionally active.
