DEVELOPMENT OFFICER, Priscilla King Gray Public Service Center (PKG Center), to lead and execute strategic fundraising and engagement for the PKG Center. This position historically has raised over half of the center's annual operating budget and will be responsible for maintaining and expanding its network of supporters. Will collaborate on maximizing the PKG Center's visibility to alumni and prospective donors; build and manage a portfolio of donors by conducting proactive outreach, cultivating relationships with prospects, and soliciting and stewarding donors; enhance engagement with prospective donors through marketing, personal relationships, connections with faculty and staff, meetings, presentations, and events; manage donor and alumni-focused communications; grow and lead the Friends of the MIT PKG Center to drive and implement strategy, communications, and events to increase funding for the center; and write grants and grant reports in partnership with PKG team members, the Office of Foundation Relations, and other colleagues.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor's degree; two years' experience in some combination of resource development, alumni relations, and/or development communications (including donor cultivation, solicitations, stewardship, and volunteer management), and/or related mission-driven field; excellent organizational, project management, problem-solving, interpersonal, team collaboration, storytelling, and writing skills; self-motivation; sound judgment; ability to listen carefully and communicate effectively and tactfully with donors/students/faculty/partners/internal and external stakeholders; knowledge of cross-cultural, bias, and social justice issues and ability to work across diverse populations and differences; ability to interpret trends in data and create actionable plans; proficiency with spreadsheet and database software and comfort learning new software as needed; and an interest in public service. Hiring range: $71,000 - 85,000

This is a hybrid position with on-campus (Cambridge) and remote work arrangements.

Travel and night and weekend work will be required.
