Job Description Summary:
Under the direction of the manager or other senior personnel, the Network Engineer manages the network infrastructure and servers. Responsibilities include monitoring LAN and WAN connections, monitoring bandwidth use, and analyzing traffic patterns and volumes. The Network Engineer Ill selects, develops, integrates and implements network management applications for internetworking components. Project management skills are required. Duties include installing hardware/software and providing on call support for production systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATIONANDEXPERIENCE
Associate's degree in information technology, business or related field or an earned certification in one of the following: MCSE, CISSP, CCIE, CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Security, CCNP Data Center.
Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting and managing a network-centric technical environment to include: Windows Administration, Active Directory design, Microsoft Office365 administration, Microsoft Azure management, Splunk, Nessus or equivalents, Crowdstrike, Sentinel or equivalent.
Minimum of 1 year experience with VMware vSphere, to include vSwitching Configuration, vSAN, Storage vMotion, System vMotion and/or DRS / HA.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLSANDABILITIES
Possesses strong troubleshooting skills.
Ability to log problem calls and resolutions. Communicates resolution to appropriate Technology Services staff and system users.
Develop test plans for configuration and installation work.
Possesses solid understanding of the application deployment process and correlations with network administration responsibilities.
Develops, documents, and coordinates implementation work plans.
Creates and maintains network diagrams and documentation.
Coordinates information with Technology Service Desk.
Assist in capacity and performance management studies.
Research new technologies that may increase corporate productivity or provide better service.
Possesses general understanding of the College System Lifecycle Methodology and prepares basic project deliverables, under the direction of the manager or other senior personnel, as assigned.
Mentors junior staff on technical and analytical skills.
Possesses basic project management skills.
Evaluates project objectives and scope for feasibility.
Produces project status reports on a timely basis.
Manages vendor relationships and monitors contract deliverables.
Adheres to company confidentiality and security requirements.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Consistently demonstrates high level of integrity and professionalism.

Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to a, personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. No significant climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions
SPECIALREQUIREMENTS
Must be physically capable of lifting medium to heavy loads, working on ladders, working in environments such as ceilings, steam tunnels, electrical vaults and telecom wiring closets.
Must be able to handle and operate basic power tools such as cordless screw drivers and electric drills.
Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.
