The Loyola Social Justice Law Clinic (LSJLC) Communications Manager coordinates, produces, and executes communications efforts and activities relating to the LSJLC at LMU Loyola Law School. The position is fully integrated with and supervised by LLS MarComm and is responsible for creating, developing, and implementing all phases and elements of a robust communications plan in support of and under the general direction of LSJLC's executive director. The incumbent will ensure outcomes and communication products are aligned with the university brand; support a culture of community awareness, transparency, and constituent engagement; create, edit, and publish a variety of communications (traditional and digital), and manage editorial schedules and projects. The position will work closely with LSJLC to plan, develop, and implement communications with donors, law students, alumni, community stakeholders, and the general public to create a wider and deeper understanding of the clinics' mission and work.
Position Specific Responsibilities/Accountabilities
# Support the day-to-day communications needs of LSJLC. Research, design, produce, write, and/or edit copy for traditional or digital publications, including, but not limited to: letters, websites, publicity materials for special events, articles, presentations, talking points, and other general communications. Collaborate with LSJLC faculty and staff on developing content.
# Serve as the primary liaison between LLS MarComm and LSJLC, facilitating cross-departmental collaboration to accomplish shared goals and assuring alignment of strategies and protocols. Coordinate with LLS MarComm colleagues to ensure alignment of communications efforts and goals with the university's overall communications strategy.
# In consultation with LLS MarComm, LLS Advancement, and Advancement Communications, plan and execute regular alumni communications, donor relations communications, and other LSJLC fundraising campaigns or communications.
# Manage LSJLC social channels. Engage and increase audiences by crafting posts, campaigns, and a social media plan that supports LSJLC objectives.
# Collect and maintain information on events, lectures, and activities sponsored by LSJLC in the university's online calendar of events and ensure active internal communications engagement to elevate awareness of LSJLC efforts. Promote LSJLC events to the general public and targeted audiences.
# Research and assist in the preparation, writing and submission of grant proposals and reports, and related requests.
# Collaborate with MarComm Communications Solutions and Digital Services team to refresh, redevelop, and deploy updated LSJLC websites. Develop an online content maintenance plan that ensures the timely updates of news, events, and general content for LSJLC.
# Ensure projects are completed by identified deadlines and on budget. Assure successful outcomes by adopting best-practice project management methodologies, quality assurance metrics, and risk mitigation plans. Assure the integrity, high-quality, and consistency of the university's image, tone, style, narrative, visual identity, and brand.
# Provide photographic coverage (for various online and print publications) and/or coordinate with MarComm colleagues to provide photographic support LSJLC.
# Research and analyze current and emerging issues related to LSJLC.
# Complete other duties and projects as assigned.

Requisite Qualifications
# Typically, a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of discipline related trends and regulation/policy changes.
# Minimum four years' experience in web design support and coordination, researching and preparing speeches and/or talking points, correspondence, grants, writing, proofing, and editing communications and special projects; ability to work effectively and independently with internal and external constituencies and with professionals of varied disciplines to accomplish goals.
# Possesses exceptional verbal and written communications skills, as well as compelling and impactful presentation abilities. Has the ability to motivate and inspire teams as well as colleagues, constituents, leaders, and governance boards.
# Demonstrated experience managing and executing across multiple communications and marketing channels and media; highly developed skills in communications writing and editing;
# Highly collaborative style with experience developing and implementing communications strategies successfully; background that demonstrates relationship-building, consensus-building, flexibility, and managing through influencing.
# Demonstrated computer competency with common production software suites.
# Ability to produce high-quality deliverables with meticulous attention to detail. Must be metrics-driven and results-oriented with demonstrated analytical skills.
# Ability to provide quick turnaround and updates for multiple requests while maintaining strong reputation for high-quality work.
# Self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a cross-functional team.
# Must be able to perform successfully in a fast-paced, intellectually intense, and service-oriented environment, while also managing multiple projects with varying deadlines. Experience working successfully within a complex organization. Willing and able to adjust to changing demands and shifting priorities.

Salary range
$64,480.00 - $71,600.00 Salary commensurate with education and experience.
