Ball State University Information Technology is seeking an Enterprise Cloud Resource Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for the university’s IT presence in various cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, and GCP. You will assist in the design, deployment, and support of cost effective, enterprise level, cloud-based solutions. You’ll work with clients, both internal and campus-wide, to evaluate existing solutions and provide guidance to reduce both cost and complexity. Position Function: The successful candidate will manage Ball State’s enterprise cloud implementations. Provide assistance and guidance on all aspects of the cloud environments at the enterprise level. Work with clients on a variety of implementations leveraging resources and providing cost effective and scalable solutions. Continuously review allocated resources confirming no unnecessary resources are deployed and that we are making the best use of services offered by the provider. Review logging information checking that systems are adequately resourced and verify that resources are secured and backed up.
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university by date of appointment. Or, in lieu of bachelor’s degree: associate’s degree plus an additional combination of education or experience in IT equivalent to two years. Or high school diploma or GED plus an additional combination of education or experience in IT equivalent to four years.
Minimum Experience: The successful candidate will have at least two years’ experience managing cloud based infrastructure with one of the industry leading companies. Demonstrated experience including log analysis, resource management, and scripting. Experience working with clients to review their needs and producing detailed proposals for solutions.
Minimum Other: The successful candidate will haveexperience in communication and presentation skills; ability to quickly adapt and become familiar with university processes and procedures and quickly establish rapport and confidence among multiple university units and levels of the organization. Must be willing to assure the continuity of enterprise systems and be available to provide support assistance on a 24 hour-a-day, 365 day-a-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors or Master’s degree in a technology or business-related program. Five years of enterprise cloud management experience at a higher education institution. Demonstrated in depth knowledge of cloud technologies across multiple vendors. Five years’ experience with cloud backup, resource provisioning, budgeting, client requirements gathering, project management, and technical support.
