Full time internship
If you are a new or recent graduate looking for a one-of-a-kind experience to gain and hone your skills in general practice, urgent care, surgery, and dental care, look no further! Rarebreed Veterinary Partners is offering a unique hybrid internship with excellent mentorship in general practice and urgent care settings. Opportunities will be available for rotations in emergency medicine and specialty medicine, but the real focus is on GP and Urgent Care skills. Time to be shared between general practice and urgent care with opportunity for emergency and spay/neuter experiences.
Opportunity to gain experience with excellent mentorship with highly skilled clinicians & support staff all while having a work-life balance!
Key Responsibilities – all with guided mentorship:
-Primary case responsibility
-Diagnose and treat pets with illnesses and injuries in general practice, urgent care, and emergency
-Administer core vaccinations and counsel clients in well pet care
-Perform surgeries and dentals
-Participate in spay/neuter clinics
-Participate in weekly or bi-weekly clinical and didactic rounds
-Contribute to making our workplace enjoyable for all: staff, clients, and pets
Requirements:
-Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from an AVMA accredited institution in good standing
-Successful completion of the NAVLE
-Personal statement/cover letter
-Curriculum vitae
-3 letters of reference
-Official transcripts
-Ability to obtain licensure in MA and ME
-Ability to obtain DEA licensure and Controlled Substance license as required by state

Founded in 2020, PetMedic serves the local veterinary community by providing care for urgent care cases during after-hours and weekends. Its goal is to fill the gap of care between family practices and emergency rooms by acting as an extension of family practices and providing extra capacity for overrun emergency rooms.
