Job Summary
The Workday Analyst/Specialist provides Human Resources system (Workday) administration, including business process configuration, reporting development, end user training, and data management. Serve as primary contact for all Workday initiatives and supporting the Operations, Total Rewards, Talent, and HR Business Partners teams with data requests and general workday troubleshooting. Work closely with outside Workday consultants, and the Payroll, Finance, and the Student Workday teams to ensure cross module optimization. As a member of the HR team, responsible for building and maintaining positive working relationships with team members, internal customers and external vendors. Also, is a member of the core cross campus team responsible for the continued success of HCM system functionality and ease of use for all constituents across campus.
Essential Functions
Workday Configuration (40%):
Serve as our Workday generalist and help guide discussions and decisions about Workday. Configure, implement, test, deploy and support functionalities within Workday HCM, benefits, compensation, applicant tracking, reporting, leaves, time and time off management, and vendor integrations. Identify opportunities for enhancements and optimization of Workday platform and partner with stakeholders to develop business requirements documents, functional specification documents, and test plans. Work with HR team leaders on Workday configurations for cyclical process such as open enrollment, compensation planning, etc.
Technical Troubleshooting (40%):
Research, diagnose and resolve issues in collaboration with other team members and respond to and maintain our Workday help tickets. Support major HCM releases by researching new functionality, testing, and implementation and educate the broader HR team on fixes and enhancements. Develop knowledge of touch points between the HR Functional areas and other areas across the college (including Finance, Student Financial Services, Facilities). Manage business processes in ERP (Workday) and make updates as needed in coordination with HR and ITS. Monitor help tickets from both internal and external users that are assigned to HR and facilitate resolution. Monitor tasks moving through HCM to identify errors, delays and opportunities for improvement. Proactively identify opportunities to streamline processes across HR functions and connected business areas in coordination Workday Operations Team.
Systems Support and Reporting (20%):
Oversee day to day operations of Workday within the Human Resources functionality, as the college moves to a new technology. Maintain appropriate documentation for the procedures used in administering the HR technology. Identify ways in which Workday reporting can be used to facilitate processes in HR and in other departments. Work with the HR team leaders to identify data practices that can be improved and help create recommendations for how Workday data is used to make HR decisions. Participate in Workday meetings and represent the HR/HCM perspective. Support the data gathering for compliance reporting and work with the HR Workforce Analyst with maintaining the documentations (IPEDS, AAP, OSHA, VETS, AAUP, etc.).
Minimum Qualifications (knowledge, skills, education, experience, certifications, licenses)
Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 2-4 years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Workday Experience; Excellent organizational, interpersonal, troubleshooting, business/system analysis, follow-up, and communication skills; strong attention to detail and accuracy; strong quantitative skills; good judgment, discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality; ability to interact with diverse constituencies; ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously; ability to work on a team and independently; competent project management skills: strong computer skills.
