As a Director of Educational Technology at Ravenscroft, here is what you get to do:
An integral member of the Library & Technology Department’s leadership team, the Director of Educational Technology supports Ravenscroft’s technology integration strategy for teaching and learning. In partnership with the Chief Technology Officer, this person serves as a team member to develop and lead the strategic vision for the innovative learning experiences at Ravenscroft to support the school’s mission. This critical school role supports the development of Ravenscroft’s short-term and long-term curricular goals by partnering with the Director of Library Services to ensure communication and collaboration in meeting those goals. The Director of Educational Technology also sets a vision for the IDE Department through its courses and programs in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, Design, and Entrepreneurship. The position leads and coaches the IDE faculty in their roles and guides them through their annual Professional Growth and Development Plan for institutional, divisional, and individual goals related to the School’s strategic initiatives.
PreK-12 Curriculum Leadership
Collaborates with academic leaders of the School to support and advance whole-school curricular goals as a member of the Academic Committee
Collaborates with the CTO, Division Heads, and Department Chairs to develop and implement a strategic plan for educational technology
Leads the development and implementation of a scope and sequence for Educational Technology and integration into all areas of learning
Partners with the CTO and Division Heads to advance STEM+ learning PreK-12
Teaches one class in Computer Science or another subject area within the IDE Department offerings
Leads through peer coaching, co-teaching, and building relationships with adult learners to advance instructional design and classroom practice
Identifies and communicates best practices and research in educational technology to assist teachers in supporting and advancing student learning
Is philosophically aligned with an inquiry-based approach to learning with expertise in using digital technology for learning.
Develops, coordinates, and instructs professional development opportunities for faculty and workshops for parents on technology-related topics
Coordinates PreK-12 co-curricular and curricular opportunities in IDE
Evaluates and pilots emerging advancements in educational technology
Develops technology-related policies with key stakeholders
Serves as the IDE Department Chair
Technology Planning & Management
In partnership with the Chief Technology Officer, develops and maintains the annual budget for educational technology software
Collaborates with the Chief Technology Officer and other members of the Technology Department to support teachers with the use of the Canvas LMS, and other educational technology platforms
Leads change management for all stakeholders in the implementation of new educational technology initiatives
Mentors, coaches, and directs the IDE faculty to transform classroom teaching and learning through evaluation, planning, and goal creation
Monitors the progress (both qualitative & quantitative) of educational technology at Ravenscroft

Qualifications:
A collaborative leader who works across stakeholders to promote teamwork, the Director of Educational Technology must possess 3 to 5 years of leadership experience, preferably in a PreK-12 environment, and should be able to demonstrate designing, leading, and implementing multiple projects effectively. Our candidates should demonstrate empathy, knowledge, and an understanding of the diverse backgrounds in our community; place importance on genuine and authentic connections with students, faculty, staff, and parents; be able to work collaboratively with team members of diverse backgrounds; and have the capacity to model an attitude of unyielding curiosity and a growth mindset.
Degree in Education or Educational Technology or a related field or comparable experience
Experience working in a blended environment of hardware (Windows, Macs, and Chromebooks) and software applications
Experience working with digital learning platforms (Canvas and Google Workspace for Education a must; Veracross SIS a plus)
Demonstrating a growth mindset and the ability to receive feedback, adapt to different learners’ needs, and become a valued colleague in a strong and cohesive department
Cultural competence and the ability to connect with a diverse community of students, faculty, staff, and parents
Designing and delivering lessons focusing on the fundamentals of course material and authentic applications that support Ravenscroft’s mission to “nurture individual potential and prepare students to thrive in a complex and interdependent world.”
