The Marketing & Communications team in the Office of Advancement has an outstanding opportunity for a Digital Content Specialist.
Position Purpose: This position is primarily responsible for producing video and online content to help meet the student recruitment, community relations and fundraising objectives of the campus. This individual also serves as the primary campus photographer.
Responsibilities:
Produce, create, and edit original video and multimedia content for use to increase engagement in a variety of contexts (website, social media, events, advertising, etc.)
Serve as the campus photographer, taking and editing professional quality images of people, events and campus.
Manage all visual media assets including the UW Tacoma Flickr account, media archive and YouTube channels.
Make recommendations on ways to leverage visual media to enhance the UW’s brand image and increase brand awareness.
Assist other members of the Marketing & Communications team in planning for and executing media campaigns and digital brand initiatives.
Collaborate on writing and editing scripts and planning shoots.
Partner with Office of Admissions to maintain and produce content for the UW Tacoma TikTok account. Assist the Senior Content Specialist in managing the UW Tacoma Instagram account.
Maintain video/photography studio space and all related equipment
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in photography, design, communications or related field AND 1-3 years’ video and photography experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have been acquired may substitute for degree.
Proven skills and experience in video and multimedia production and audio recording, including Adobe Premiere Pro, Lightroom, Photoshop, and After Effects in an Apple Mac environment.
Proficiency using digital SLR equipment and professional lighting and audio equipment.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Demonstrated proficiency with short-form video storytelling.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.
Ability to lift and transport heavy and fragile equipment (up to 25lbs.) around campus.
Online portfolio of video and photography work is required. Please include a link to your portfolio in your resume or cover letter
