Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Associate Director for Experiential Learning, the Coordinator II is responsible for the development and administration for experiential learning programs and curriculum for the UNIV courses and the Residential Learning Communities. The Coordinator II will coordinate learning opportunities for project based learning and other special programs that foster the building of skills and competencies in students for career development. In addition, this position will focus on marketing and recruiting students for experiential learning opportunities and maintaining accurate tracking and reporting for programs.
Essential Duties:
Experiential Learning Program & Curriculum Development:
Assist the Assistant Director and Associate Director for Experiential Learning in developing experiential learning curriculum for specialized UNIV course sections and the Residential Learning Communities focused on UTA initiatives, specific academic majors, or affinity groups.
Assist the Assistant Director and Associate Director for Experiential Learning with the 17+ Residential Learning Communities through developing on and off campus activities and events for program participants.
Assist the Assistant Director and Associate Director for Experiential Learning in developing and training staff on curriculum that is project-based and major-related; serves UTA special populations in partnership with the appropriate campus departments and colleges.
Build partnerships with other offices and departments on campus that will support experiential learning opportunities in the UNIV classroom.
Experiential Learning Program Administration:
Serve as project leader for the experiential learning course program administrative processes (recruiting, course enrollment, tracking and reporting, etc.).
Serve as the project leader for the Residential Learning Communities (RLC) program administrative processes (recruiting, course enrollment, tracking and reporting, etc.).
Develop and maintain marketing plan and design materials for RLC and EL programs, including social media, digital, print, website, and other avenues as needed.
Facilitate Office of New Student Courses communication as it pertains to experiential learning in the UNIV courses and Residential Learning Communities.
Represent Office of New Student Courses and the Experiential Learning and Residential Learning Community programs at student recruitment events.
Staff Supervision:
Day to day supervision of Graduate Assistants and peer educators, including regular communication, retention, on-going development and recognition of staff.
Take part in the recruitment and training program for peer educators.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with minimum three (3) years of experience with advising, student development and supervision, tutoring, supplemental instruction, First Year seminars, First Year programming, or other similar educational programs.
Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree with five (5) years of experience with advising, student development and supervision, tutoring, supplemental instruction, First Year seminars, First Year programming, or other similar educational programs.
Strong Interpersonal skills.
