Overview
The Budget Office in the School of Professional Studies is seeking an individual to serve as a Budget Assistant. Responsibilites include coordinating the preparation of budget reports, contracts and grants. Maintain complex financial and budgetary spreadsheets; record expenditures and/or payments ensuring they are posted to proper accounts, apply calculations to data and tabulate. Establish financial records and files and ensure that they are maintained and updated on an ongoing basis. Initiate and respond to various types of inquiries regarding financial policies, procedures, deadlines, etc. May assign and review work of and train a small group of student and/or casual employees.
Responsibilities
Required Education: 2 years of specialized training or equivalent or some College.
Preferred Education: Associates degree.
Required Experience: 3 years of related experience. Experience providing a high level of customer service.
Preferred Experience: Experience working in a financial or accounting firm processing a large volume of transactions.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Proficiency with intermediate-level spreadsheet, database and word processing applications. Knowledge of financial software package.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Proficiency with intermediate-level Microsoft Excel and Word.
Qualifications
In compliance with NYCâ™s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is $34.629. This rate is based on the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
