Northmarq is looking for an individual to join its Operations Department as a Supervisor for our Investor Accounting division. This leadership position is responsible for managing a team that oversees transaction processing, cash application, bank account reconciliation, disbursements, and ACH maintenance. It requires a self-motivated, strategic, and analytical-minded individual that can develop and engage staff, promote change, and execute process improvements.
Position Responsibilities:
Leadership – Supervise a team of Transaction Processing Specialists and Investor Accounting Analysts in completing functions assigned to their respective teams.
Monitor completion of tasks and conduct performance reviews.
Hire, train and evaluate staff’s performance.
Customer Service – Provide borrowers, lenders, and internal customers with prompt, quality service in a friendly and professional manner.
Ensure that the team provides the highest level of customer service to all customers, internally and externally.
Servicing Audits – Assist Senior Manager with oversight of audits; including Investor Audits, USAP, Reg A-B, and S&P ratings.
Assist in preparing and providing information for audits and answering audit questions.
Acts as liaison with internal and external auditors.
Cash Processing & Bank Account Reconciliation – Provide oversight over posting transactions, depositing checks, and reconciling bank accounts.
Troubleshoot cash processing errors as needed, identifying root cause and mitigation.
Complete day end verification that all wires and disbursements were completed.
Ensure bank accounts are reconciled daily for 2000+ portfolio level bank accounts.
Loan Transfers/Acquisitions – Assist in managing the transfer process of loans to and from Northmarq.
Ensure initial escrow/reserve balances are accurately applied.
Ensure new bank accounts are set-up.
Project Management – Assist senior management with coordination of various projects and contribute towards the Operation Department’s strategic initiatives.
Serve on teams with supervisors and managers to effectively accomplish the objectives of the department and to provide strategic input into the future relating to growth and quality.
Assist Director of Operations with various special projects as needed.
Policies and Procedures – Coordinate review and refinement of team’s policies and process to ensure accuracy, efficiency and consistency with Department standards.
Ensure that all areas of responsibility are performed in accordance with Northmarq’s standards.
Implement and follow through on changes to policies and procedures.
Other areas of responsibilities as assigned by management.
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor’s Degree; preferably with a major in business administration, finance, accounting, or real estate.
3-5 years of leadership experience or a demonstrated ability to lead staff, preferably in commercial mortgage business with broad-based knowledge of servicing practices and standards.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Excel.
Familiar with bank practices and account management.
Familiar with commercial loan terminology.
Knowledge of commercial mortgage servicing standards and practices.
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop others.
Effective written and verbal communication.
Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
Strong customer service skills.
Strong organization skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
