Departmental Overview
The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics consists of more than 275 staff members and coaches and sponsors 30 varsity sports programs. These 30 programs include more than 850 student-athletes who participate in the various sports programs annually within the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA). We are currently seeking a Director of Football Graphic Design who will work within our Football program.
The Director of Football Graphic Design plans, analyzes, and creates visual solutions to communication problems. They find the most effective way to get messages across in print and electronic media using color, type, illustration, photography, animation, and various print and layout techniques.

Responsibilities
The Football Graphic Designer plans, analyzes, and creates intercollegiate athletics specific visuals (graphics, photography, digital animations, etc.) in support of the operational and strategic aspects of the intercollegiate Football program. Under the direction of the Director of Football Creative, create relevant and compelling content that engages fans and encourages follower growth. They find the most effective way to get intercollegiate athletics' messages across in print and electronic media using color, type, illustration, photography, animation, and various print and layout techniques. This person will develop graphic packages on a timely basis for social media and the recruitment of student athletes, while maintaining a detailed content calendar to ensure promotion of appropriate team-related content, events, programs, and marketing efforts. Additionally, they must adhere to University, Pac-12 Conference, and NCAA policies and procedures.
Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Communications, Digital Marketing, Journalism, or a related major from an accredited college or university;
Demonstrated working experience with the Adobe Creative Suite;
2+ years of experience in social media management in collegiate athletics setting;
Strong planning and organizational skills;
Excellent verbal, written, computer, and personal relations skills;
Demonstrated passion for football and understanding of the game;
Ability to deliver quality work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment;
Ability to work an irregular schedule including, evenings, weekends, and holidays;
Working knowledge of production processes and vendor requirements for a variety of products.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Communications, Digital Marketing, Journalism, or a related major from an accredited college or university;

Preferred Qualifications
Ideal candidates will have work experience in social media, social media strategies, content creation, recruiting at the FBS level and/or knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.

Under California law, the University of California, Berkeley is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role and should not offer a salary outside of the range posted in this job announcement. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.
The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $60,000 - $70,000.
