Iowa State University has recently completed the planning process of its new, innovative and dynamic nine-year strategic plan for fiscal year 2022 through 2031.
The role of the Strategic Initiatives Program/Project Specialist/Manager will be responsible for supporting Iowa State University strategic initiatives to advance the university. The Program Manager will analyze and track proposal development, implement strategic approaches to advance the strategic priorities, build and strengthen relationships with internal and external partners, and support other emerging priorities as required.
 Examples of Scope of Work Duties:
Draft a high volume of reports, talking points, memoranda, and other materials for the Senior Advisor to the President and other university leadership, often under tight deadlines.
Prepare the Senior Advisor to the President and other university leadership for participation in meetings with stakeholders, especially proposal applicants and recipients.
Build relationships and maintain routine communication with campus partners on issues related to strategic initiative engagement and coordination.
Gather information and analyze proposals and review policies, programs, and activities in order to proactively identify opportunities for cooperation on shared priorities.
Ensure implementation of project management complies with college and university-level policies and practices.
Foster an environment of collegiality with all faculty and staff as a representative of the Office of the President.
Monitor and report on success factors and metrics related to strategic plan projects and initiatives, working with various offices and departments to ensure accurate data collection.
Develop tools and resources to support Iowa State Universityâs strategic plan activities, build long-term partnerships, and increase the efficiency and effectiveness of proposal process.
Collect and respond to requests for information and assist with communication efforts related to strategic initiatives.
