BHE GT&S has an exciting Engineer I or Engineer II or Engineer III position available in our Bridgeport, WV office. Flexible work schedule including hybrid and compressed work schedule may be available and are not guaranteed. As an Engineer I or Engineer II or Engineer III on the Project Engineering Team you will lead/support the development and execution of various size capital projects to grow and maintain our interstate natural gas transmission and storage facilities, which contributes to the efficient, safe, reliable, and profitable operations. These new and existing facilities (such as installation of pipelines, compressor stations, or measurement & regulation stations) will vary in size, from smaller scale modifications to existing infrastructure to larger FERC 7c projects. These projects require extensive collaboration with many stakeholders within BHE GT&S to develop, design, engineer, procure, construct, commission and place the assets in service.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Execute all duties and responsibilities in a safe manner while ensuring compliance with codes, laws, and company policies.
Develop conceptual plans, preliminary schedules, accurate cost estimates, and agreements for proposed new facilities or modifications of existing facilities.
Provide leadership and accountability inclusive of project management, engineering, and construction support for capital projects (such as installation or replacement of pipelines, compressor stations, or measurement & regulation stations) from conceptual stage through successful start-up of facilities, with oversight of outside consultants or contractors.
Accountable and responsible for meeting budget and schedule requirements for each assigned project.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop plans, schedules, accurate cost estimates, and contracts/agreements for the engineering, procurement and construction of proposed new facilities or modifications of existing facilities.
Lead the timely and quality completion of engineering and equipment procurement.
Prepare requisitions for design services, materials & equipment, and construction services; evaluate proposals/bids.
Administer/manage service agreements, design contracts, and construction contracts.
Coordinate with internal groups to obtain land, permits and environmental clearances required for capital projects.
Represent the company and project in public forums.
Ensure accuracy of as-built information for assigned projects.
*Engineer III incumbents are expected to provide technical expertise and/or team leadership, apply intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to projects and will serve as a technical expert on engineering related legal and regulatory issues to outside entities.

There one position available that will be filled at the level commensurate with the selected candidate’s skills and abilities. The qualifications for each level are listed below. You must demonstrate via resume that you have met the Required Basic Qualifications:
Engineer I – 0-2 years relevant engineering design and construction experience in the natural gas or similar industry.
Engineer II – Minimum 3 years relevant engineering design and construction experience in the natural gas or similar industry.
Some experience leading portions of capital projects (and accountable for cost, schedule, safety, compliance).
Preferred construction/field experience.
Engineer III – Minimum 5+ years relevant engineering design and construction experience in the natural gas or similar industry.
Demonstrated successful leadership experience executing large capital projects (and accountable for cost, schedule, safety, compliance).
Ability to manage risks and address technical and commercial issues.
Extensive construction and field experience.
Good team-building skills.
Additional Knowledge, Skills & Abilities for both Engineer II and Engineer III:
Ability to manage and design capital projects
Ability to perform effectively in a high pace, multi-task environment; and ability to independently plan and organize work schedule

NOTE: Engineer I, Engineer II or Engineer III both require a 4 year engineering degree with a preferred discipline in Mechanical, Civil, or Petroleum/Natural Gas, from an ABET accredited engineering program (see below for more details).
For placement of a candidate in the Engineer job series, the following criteria must be met: Possess a 4-year Engineering degree from an ABET accredited Engineering program based on the year that the Engineering program was accredited by ABET, or Possess a 4-year Engineering degree from an institution outside of the U.S. which is accredited through the country's own Engineering accrediting body under the Washington Accord as a full signatory, and is a degree that was recognized by the country's accrediting body on or after the date that full signatory status was achieved, or Possess a 4-year degree in Engineering (non-ABET accredited), Physics, Chemistry, Math or Engineering Technology and a post-graduate Engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same Engineering discipline is ABET-accredited based on the year the Engineering program was accredited by ABET, or Holds or has previously held a valid U.S. Professional Engineer license.
