Responsibilities The Clinical Educator (CE) uses clinical expertise to meet, coordinate and/or provide staff learning for orientation, in-service training, competency processes and program development for existing and new services. The CE will analyze data for the development and implementation of routines and guidelines resulting in the highest quality patient care; Ensure patient care is at the highest standards of evidence-based practice and that Department and Hospital Policies are met. The CE will provide a full range of therapy services specific to their license including evaluation, treatment planning, therapeutic interventions, and discharge planning
Required Qualifications
Several years minimum experience as a PT (Physical Therapist), OT (Occupational Therapist), or SLP (Speech Language Pathologist) working with both intensive care unit (ICU) and medical surgical populations.
Extensive years of experience in Occupational, Physical, or Speech Therapy.
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Occupational, Physical, or Speech Therapy.
Currently licensed by State of California in Occupational, Physical, or Speech Therapy.
APTA, AOTA, or ASHA Certified
Advanced knowledge of, and skill to apply, practices, principles and techniques of patient care related to Occupational, Physical, or Speech Therapy as identified by each specific Therapy Practice.
Advanced skills to establish and follow/ provide plan of care appropriate to hospital patients, and other patients with a variety of diagnoses.
Strong project management and leadership skills.
Advanced skills to serve as a resource for staff.
Advanced knowledge and skills to educate and train professional staff within the health system and in the community.
Advanced verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with staff in a clear, concise, professional manner and able to establish rapport and communicate well with patients and family members.
Skills in leadership, professionalism, and communication.
Skills to triage, schedule and assign caseload with an average daily census on the therapy service which may be >300 patients/day.
