Summary of Duties:

This position works within the College of Engineering and Architecture and the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science to support instructional and research laboratory activities performing a variety of advanced technical work in the design, development, modification, repair and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment, instruments, and devices.

Required Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in an appropriate related scientific or engineering discipline (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering).
  
• Experience performing professional-level work with scientific or engineering research protocols.
  
• Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  
• Experimental and analytical skills.
  
• Understanding and knowledge of research theory.
  
• Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  

• Strong experimental background.
  
• Hands-on experience with design and fabrication of experimental components.
  
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
  
• Familiar with basic laboratory equipment (e.g. control hardware, oscilloscopes, such as a lathe, mill, drill press, etc.).
  
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  
• Good computer skills, including experience with technical/design programs.
  
• Must have fine motor skills.
  
• Able to climb up and down stairs in the laboratory, and move equipment as necessary.
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or 2 years related industry experience.
  
• Experience with the design, development and fabrication of Mechanical or Electrical Engineering laboratories.
  
• Experience working within a Higher Education institution.

Monthly Salary:

$4,508.70 - $5,635.87

Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range.
