The Association of Nutrition and Foodservice Professionals has an exciting opportunity for a Professional Development Manager to join our team! This position plays a key role in our Education Department supporting the VP of Professional Development and Member Services.
Essential Functions
Manage and implement ANFP approved training programs including approval, outreach, marketing, and communication. Research and identify opportunities to expand program and number of potential exam candidates. Manage Prior Approval Program. Support Vice President of Professional Development and Member Services on design, quality, and implementation of all education products, initiatives, and services. Serve as content expert in the foodservice management and nutrition area.
Specific Duties
Nutrition and Foodservice Management Training Program (NFMTP)
Manage and implement the ANFP Approved Training Program. Direct the review and approval of school applications. Build relationships with schools. Analyze challenges for programs and outline potential program enhancements and improvements.
Direct the review and approval process for all NFMT programs
Implement NFMT program policies and effectively recommend policy changes
Build relationships with current and prospective schools to improve retention of programs and promote growth.
Provide guidance and direction to program organization and curriculum.
Analyze programs’ annual reports and identify areas for program improvements and/or challenges. Communicate with school and provide recommendations.
Assist Vice President in review and periodic updates of ANFP training curriculum and supporting textbooks.
Task Force Leader for NFMTP initiatives including Program Review Committee staff liaison.
Provides data and assists with development of NFMTP budget.
Direct outreach to prospective schools and exam candidates.
Continuing Education and Exam Preparation
Serve as content expert for content related questions as it relates to textbooks, exam prep material, continuing education products, and other industry related questions. Authors and reviews continuing education products and resources for quality and relevancy.
Manage CE quality reviews through analyzing feedback and revise CE products as needed.
Manage CE article development including contracting with authors, assessing articles for competency levels and topics.
Contribute to the continual development of ANFP education by authoring, editing, and reviewing content
Manage educational industry partner relationships as needed.
Assist Vice President in all education initiatives and enhancements. Assess project needs and identify project requirements and scope of work. Monitor project status. Create user acceptance testing. Develop training tools on program enhancements.
Manage project roadmap and schedule in support of implementation of all education programs, textbooks, curriculum, and exam preparation material.
Create board reports to measure key performance indicators (KPIs) on continuing education goals.
Provides data and assists with development of Continuing Education budget.
Prior Approval
Manage Prior Approval Program and marketing initiatives.
Manage prior approval program through review of content to meet the educational competency requirements for credential holders, in compliance with CBDM policies/procedures.
Audit unlimited providers. Analyze results and assist providers to meet program policies as needed.
Analyze marketing efforts and collaborate with marketing team to enhance program.
Create board reports to measure KPIs on program goals.
Provides data and assists with development of Prior Approval Program budget.
Required Competencies, Education, and Experience
Content expertise in foodservice management and nutrition

Excellent oral and written communication skills
Bachelor’s Degree plus Certified Dietary Manager, Certified Food Protection Professional (CDM, CFPP), Nutrition and Dietetic Technician, Registered (NDTR), or Registered Dietitian, Nutritionist (RDN) credential is required or to be obtained within six months of hire
5 years business and/or customer service experience required.
