Responsibilities This position is directed by the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center (UCDCCC) Associate Director (AD) for the Inclusivity, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEAL) Office and Office of Population Health (OPH) Executive Director. In this newly created role, the IDEAL Analyst will assist with developing the IDEAL Office and administer the NCI Cancer Center Support Grant's (CCSG) Plan to Enhance Diversity (PED). The IDEAL Office and PED seek to enhance the participation of women, minorities, and individuals from groups nationally under-represented in the research workforce, center leadership, and advisory boards of the UCDCCC.
This position will work in partnership with the UCDCCC Associate Directors and coordinate with respective offices to develop and implement the strategies outlined in the PED. Key roles for the analyst will be to support the development of strategies to collect and analyze DEI metrics and evaluate DEI climate the center. These activities may include but are not limited to the development of councils and committees, documenting best practices, and interact with the Office of Education, Training and Career Development's to develop training and mentoring opportunities for junior, early- and mid-career researchers from diverse backgrounds. The incumbent will partner with the institutional Office of Health Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (HEDI), Human Resources, and School of Medicine leadership in response to needs, opportunities and input from stakeholders including faculty, trainees, staff, patients, and community leaders. The IDEAL Analyst collects, generates, and reports on a variety of data, including stakeholder needs and existing IDEAL resources. The incumbent will promote and develop organizational change and support UCDCCC goals related to reducing inequities and disparities. This may include creative ways to collect data not currently being collected and will necessitate working with a wide variety of programs and initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with three (3) or more years of relevant experience or relevant diversity, equity and inclusion certification or training may substitute one (1) year of experience.
Demonstrated intercultural competency skills and experience working cross-culturally
Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning
Experience implementing practices around diversity, equity, inclusion, antiracism, into systems, policies, and procedures
Demonstrated ability to identify, navigate, and address challenges associated with DEI and anti-racism work
Strong project management and organizational skills
Ability to motivate, collaborate and negotiate with diverse individuals and groups
Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships and partnership
Demonstrates advanced knowledge of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility programs and applies it to the completion of related assignments.
Experience facilitating education and training around sensitive and IDEAL related topics
Ability to plan, design, develop, and implement innovative and strategies and solutions in a matrix environment
High proficiency with Microsoft Office products required
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree
Qualitative and quantitative analytical skills necessary to collect data, analyze it, and develop substantive reports.
Knowledge of the principles and techniques of administrative management, including organization, planning, staffing, training, and reporting
Knowledge of program and curriculum planning, development, and high level of expertise regarding evaluation methods
Proficiency with Tableau, or other data visualization tools
Special Requirements
