Reporting to the Director, Continuing and Professional Education Marketing, the Manager, Social Media, Continuing and Professional Education, will enhance the journey of our students through building, growing, listening to and engaging our learning community. Identifying opportunities to engage with all our members, listening and following up to their feedback, identifying the influencers within our community, and engaging with them will be an integral part of this role. The Managerwill support marketing and content strategy for a range of programs by keeping an active and diversified editorial calendar that includes engaging content, live events, and knowledge sharing across our public-facing social channels. Collaborating with teams and stakeholders throughout the university, the Manager will be a brand advocate for The New School and CPE. Â Â

Responsibilities:
Utilize creative new media and online communities to help build awareness and interest in support of CPE enrollment initiatives and institutional priorities
Produce optimized, mobile-first content for social media channels that is timely, relevant, and aligned with TNS values in tandem with monitoring social media conversations and audience sentiment, responding in timely manner to comments and questions and encouraging peer-to-peer connections and interactions
In collaboration with CPE Marketing Directors, Content, and Enrollment Services teams, develop a posting schedule that aligns with registration cycles, event calendars, and promotional calendars
Produce content in multiple formats (static, dynamic, video, interactive polls, etc.) for multiple Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and LinkedIn accounts, addressing a range of audiences and supporting a range of programs
Provide monthly reporting on key social media engagement and metrics, sharing insights and making recommendations to help shape content going forwardÂ
Manage all elements of social co-promotion activities with our partners & influencers
Build and maintain relationships with fellow social media staff and other partners, serving as an expert resource and facilitator for sharing best practices and guidance
Stay up-to-date with the nuances and changes on various social platforms and quickly hypothesize which new capabilities will work for our audiences and actively experiment to test said hypothesis. Â
Social media account management (manage users, permissions, etc.)
Monitor emerging platforms with regularity and develop criteria and recommendations for which platforms we should expand to and which we no longer need to engage with.
Minimum Qualifications:
A mobile-first mindset. A digital-first mindset is insufficient.
Minimum 3 years' experience in content strategy and social media content production , preferably for online media, professional and personal development or E-learning companies.Â
Proficiency on social media platforms Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tik Tok, LinkedIn, and YouTube.Â
Proficiency with social media management and listening platforms such as Sprout Social or Hootsuite and project management tools such as Asana and Hive; productivity tools such as Google Suite; and content creation tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud and promo.com (video creation platforms).
Deep proficiency with the native content creation tools on key primary platforms such as Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn.
3+ years experience as a community manager.
Hands-on experience launching community initiatives (e.g. building an online community, launching an ambassador or influencer program, creating an event series, and developing an email newsletter)
An engaging communication style: you understand how content should be developed to trigger action and how responses should be created to encourage connections and amplify information.
Organization and planning: Your collaborative spirit inspires others to work with you, and you rely heavily on research and analysis to craft your game plan.
Self-management: Self-starter and self-motivated. You are able to use your own initiative. You're known for never dropping balls, always keeping your eyes on the target and your ability to deliver results under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelorâ™s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related field

Hybrid/Remote - Employees hired for this position primarily work remotely with the occasional on-campus presence required with advanced notice.
