Job Summary
Department Specific Responsibilities
Primary HR contact for the organizational support of several divisions within UITS
Develop strong working relationships with Associate Vice Presidents, Directors, Managers, and employees within the assigned divisions, gaining an in-depth understanding of the organizational needs, business strategy, challenges and goals for each area
Uses this understanding to provide analysis, consultation, and broad functional expertise on all aspects of human resources, including employment, compensation, employee relations, immigration, organizational design, employee engagement, recruitment, and training
Requires partnerships and proactive communications with HR professionals across the University to ensure consistency, effective service levels, and leveraging of subject matter experts for seeking integrated solutions
Leads or participates in the design, development, and implementation of various projects affecting his or her assigned divisions, across UITS, and in partnership with University Human Resources Centers of Expertise. Representative projects include employee engagement initiatives, improving HR operations to provide higher levels of client service, job framework redesign, and improving recruiting and hiring systems and processes.
General Responsibilities
Utilizes and applies in-depth HR body of knowledge and skills to provide tactical guidance for HR related matters like salary administration, hiring, training, and policy interpretation.
Resolves and provides solutions for more complex employee relations issues with continued partnership, counsel, and support from COEs.
Collaborates and develops recruiting strategies to meet current and/or anticipated staffing needs; ensures recruiting and staffing needs are met in a timely manner.
Collaborates with other business partners and managers to improve and build effective relationships to improve employee engagement and identify ""high priority"" retention needs.
Coaches leaders to help determine best solutions regarding policy interpretation, performance issues, workforce planning, change management, conflict resolution to ensure alignment and consistency across the university.
Provides HR consulting and problem-solving solutions on issues to leaders and managers
Collaborate with HR COEs to roll out and support university-wide initiatives, ensure client's needs are understood and met, and deliver change management interventions.
Provides support for ensuring an environment of diversity and inclusion.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
Bachelor's degree required (degree in Human Resources preferred)
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
3 years Human Resources or related progressively responsible experience
Preferred
Experience as a Human Resources Generalist or Human Resources Business Partner
Experience in a Higher Education or Information Technology environment
Experience with organizational design and development
Experience with project/program management
Combinations of related education and experience may be considered

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

This position is eligible for remote work, subject to change based on university policy and business needs.
Advertised Salary
Up to $65,000 based on experience and education
