Job Description:
The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering within the Russ College of Engineering and Technology at Ohio University invites applications for two tenure-track assistant professor positions. Candidates must have an earned doctoral degree in industrial and systems engineering or a closely related field by the start date of appointment. We are looking for outstanding candidates with demonstrated excellence in research, as well as a keen interest in teaching and a commitment to student success. Departmental support will include initial reduced teaching loads, competitive salary, and generous start-up funds. The appointment is expected to begin in Fall 2023.
Candidates from all relevant research areas in industrial and systems engineering are welcome to apply, but special consideration will be given to candidates with a record of high-quality research and scholarship in human factors/ergonomics or advanced manufacturing. We seek candidates with interests and expertise in the emerging areas related to human factors and ergonomics. Areas of interests include but are not limited to human-robot interaction, human integration with systems or technologies, healthcare delivery, occupational safety, and augmented reality/virtual reality. Areas of interests related to advanced manufacturing include but are not limited to semiconductor manufacturing, smart/digital manufacturing, industry 4.0, cyber-physical industrial systems, digital twin, supply chain & logistics, and big data in manufacturing.

Minimum Qualifications:
· Earned doctoral degree in industrial and systems engineering or closely related field by start date of appointment.
· Demonstrated ability to carry out high-quality, externally funded research in the primary focus areas listed above.
· Demonstrated ability to teach courses in undergraduate, graduate, and online courses in industrial and systems engineering.
· Proficient in English communication.
