Responsibilities
The Assistant Director of Environmental Services is responsible for planning, organizing and directing custodial operations in order to provide a clean, safe and aesthetically pleasing environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The Assistant Director will lead staff to model a professional practice environment by encouraging strong interdisciplinary team collaboration and communication; support autonomy and accountability; provide staff opportunities for in-service and education; stress the importance of continuous learning; and support a culture where concern for the patient is paramount.
As the Assistant Director, you will establish operational objectives and initiatives for a large department (~450 FTEs) across multiple sites. You will be involved in policy, budgets, recruitments, mentoring, and performance requirements.
Required Qualifications Applicants are encouraged to upload license and certification if required of the position.
Bachelor's degree in a position-related field and/or equivalent experience/training.
Extensive broad-based experience in Hospitality Services, Environmental Services, Custodial, or other relevant area.
Management and/or leadership experience directing and managing hospitality or environmental services operations, integrated healthcare delivery system, or large hospital.
Experience leading complex organizational change, managing a large workforce, strategic planning, and implementing best practices, innovation, and technology.
Advanced knowledge of health care custodial regulatory standards and requirements, including knowledge of codes and policies governing bio hazardous and hazardous waste.
Knowledge of principles and practices of organization, management, budgeting, finance, human resources, and project management necessary to plan, coordinate, and direct diverse activities for the organization.
Advanced skill developing and implementing training programs that meet regulatory health and safety requirements.
Advanced knowledge of fiscal management including budget development, account management and tracking.
Advanced knowledge and skill to develop and implement process improvement strategies and quality improvement programs.
Advanced knowledge of principles and practices of organization, management, budgeting, finance, human resources, and project management necessary to plan, coordinate, and direct diverse activities for the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
CHESP - Certified Health Care Environmental Services Professional certification.
Master's degree in relevant field.
Hospital experience.
Process redesign experience.
