Rider University Libraries are looking to hire adjunct librarians in the following areas: reference, general cataloging, music cataloging, research instruction. Rank and position will be based on the qualifications of the candidates.

Position Requirements:
This position requires a completed ALA-accredited MLS or MLIS degree, OR a minimum of twenty-four (24) credit hours completed toward the attainment of an ALA-accredited MLS or MLIS degree. This position also requires at least one year of experience providing in-person or virtual reference/research assistance.
The successful candidate must also demonstrate the following: Excellent customer service skills, relationship building and maintaining skills, communication skills; excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; a demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively; flexibility to adapt to the dynamic workflows and changing schedules inherent to a dynamic academic library; and a commitment to supporting a diverse population of students in support of our climate of inclusivity.
Position Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
Expertise in business, social sciences (e.g. criminology, sociology)
Experience in general humanities reference work, science reference work, or work in a performing arts library (music, theater, dance)
Experience with instruction in research methods in the sciences (e.g. biology, chemistry, etc)
Experience with bibliographic instruction
Knowledge of the SpringShare suite of products ( LibApps, LibGuides)
Cataloging experience in print and non-print formats
Experience with library systems, course management software, and educational technology applications, including integrated library systems such as Sierra, Canvas LMS, Camtasia
Experience in performing arts library (music, theater, dance)
Experience creating and maintaining digital collections
Experience creating finding aids, LibGuides, and other digital learning objects (videos, quizzes)
