Colorado Academy seeks a dynamic and passionate educational technology specialist to join a collaborative department as a full-time member effective August 2023. This is a full time, 11-month faculty position that reports to the Director of Technology. The primary role of this position is to facilitate creative and innovative use of technology by working collaboratively with faculty and students.
Promote the integration of technology as a tool to improve and enhance learning
Engage with faculty, staff, and students to extend responsible, innovative, and creative use of technology
Plan, model, and encourage effective applications of technology with an emphasis on Colorado Academy’s 1:1 device program, digital citizenship, making, and tinkering in the classroom
Provide assistance to teachers for effective implementation of technology in their own classes, including being a resource in the classroom for demonstrations, guidance, co-teaching, and support
Assess the level of technology integration across all grades and ensure that students have mastered important skills
Plan, develop, and conduct administrator, faculty member, and student professional development via workshops and one-to-one training
Evaluate new technologies and their potential use in the classroom and school
Maintain a current knowledge of emerging technologies and research in teaching, learning, and best pedagogical practices
Teach one computer science, engineering, or innovation class in the Middle or Upper School
Other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Technology
Qualifications
Minimum four-year degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in Education or Instructional Technology; advanced degree preferred
At least three years of experience teaching in an educational environment and working with students of all ages
Broad knowledge and experience with technology in schools including iPads, 1:1 programs, Google tools, and makerspaces
Demonstrated ability for learning unfamiliar tools and clearly sharing information with a diverse group of learners
An understanding of key learning theories, design thinking, and curriculum development as well as effective teaching and learning strategies and their relation to technology
Aptitude for teaching and working collaboratively with multiple constituencies, including administration, teachers, students, and parents
Attitude of a lifelong learner who seeks to remain current and future-thinking through continuing education and professional development
Excellent oral and written communications skills

The pay range for the position is $60,000 - $85,000. Although $60,000 - $85,000 is a good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting, Colorado Academy reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range. Any wage differential that may exist for the position does not relate to sex, gender or gender identity, but relates solely to a seniority system, a merit system, or relevant education, training and/or experience.
