The Division of Prosthodontics is housed within the Department of Restorative Dentistry and Biomaterials Sciences RDBS. The Advanced Graduate Program in Prosthodontics includes all sub-specialties such us Fixed, Removable, and Maxillofacial Prosthodontics. AGE Prosthodontics is a CODA Accredited Program and enjoys a national and international recognition as a leading program in Digital Dentistry, Implant Dentistry with a Modern Prosthodontic philosophy.
The Department of Restorative Dentistry and Biomaterials Sciences at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM) is seeking applications for the position of Division Head of Prosthodontics and Advanced Graduate Education (AGE) Program Director. The position offers a unique interdisciplinary environment for research, teaching, and patient care not only within HSDM, but also with affiliated hospitals and institutions.
Aligned with HSDM and RDBS departments' mission and vision the Head of the Division of Prosthodontics will focus on setting and implementing the vision and direction of the discipline of prosthodontics both at Harvard and internationally. The Division of Prosthodontics is hosted in the Department of Restorative Dentistry and Biomaterials Sciences (RDBS). The Advanced Graduate Program in Prosthodontics includes all sub-specialties such us Fixed, Removable, and Maxillofacial Prosthodontics. AGE Prosthodontics is a CODA Accredited Program and enjoys a national and international recognition as a leading program in Digital Dentistry, Implant Dentistry with a modern Prosthodontic philosophy. In addition, she/he will provide leadership in Prosthodontic research, education, clinical sciences and mentorship of future leaders in the field of Prosthodontics. The development of a robust research and clinical program in Prosthodontics will be an essential component of this role. The AGE Director of Prosthodontics oversees all aspects of the program including: the recruitment and admission of highly qualified applicants; the academic, clinical and research progress of the residents; the recruitment and calibration of part-time faculty; the development and maintenance of the program-specific curriculum; and the adherence to CODA accreditation standards. The Director will also serve as a member of the school-wide committee that directs advanced graduate admissions and education.
AGE Prosthodontics is a three-year program leading to an MMSc degree in oral biology and a certificate in prosthodontics. A DMSc degree, which requires a minimum of four years of study, is an option for those individuals whose primary aim is to pursue a career in academics or research. The AGE program is designed to satisfy the guidelines for certification by the American Board of Prosthodontics.
Predoc Prosthodontics, led by a discipline director, oversees all aspect related to the teaching and clinical training in prosthodontics for the DMD Program at HSDM. These includes the didactic, preclinical and the clinical teaching of the discipline of Prosthodontics.
Intramural or extramural practice opportunities will be available up to 20% of the time. Intramural opportunities will take place at either the Faculty Group Practice of the Harvard Center or at an HSDM-affiliated institution.
The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic clinician-scientist and educator who is able to mentor faculty, AGE Residents and DMD students as they progress through their academic, clinical and research accomplishments. This faculty position has an academic appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor, commensurate with experience and qualifications of the individual. A demonstrated background in curricular development and program management is desirable. Candidates should demonstrate experience in research, teaching and clinical instruction of prosthodontics, as well as in other related areas.

Basic Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a DMD or DDS degree from a CODA accredited dental school or equivalent, and be eligible for full or faculty dental faculty licensure in Massachusetts. Candidates with board certification by the American Board of Prosthodontics (ABP) will be given preference. Applicants that are eligible for board certification by ABP will also be considered.
Further qualifications include excellent clinical skills as a prosthodontist to practice in the state-of-the-art Harvard Dental Center or extramurally, documented record of scholarship, and demonstrated leadership in the field of Prosthodontics.
