Under the direction of the Dr. Bhramar Mukherjee, you will provide high-level, responsible administrative support for the Chair’s research-related activities. This includes support for administrative responsibilities within the Center for Precision Health Data Science and at the University of Michigan’s Comprehensive Cancer Center. In this position, you will provide general support by assisting with managing calendars, scheduling meetings, organizing symposiums and retreats, organizing travel and schedules for Center members, reconciling purchasing cards and processing reimbursements, as well as maintaining biosketches, CVs and publication databases. In addition, you will assist in providing high-level administrative support for the Chair’s presentations; the successful candidate will have strong skills in helping to create effective presentations and other forms of communication.
Support Chair in their Role as Associate Director of Quantitative Data Science for the Rogel Cancer Center & Director of Center for precision Health Data Science: Monitors and provides regular updates on Cancer Center accounts; organize seminar series; Maintains and updates Cancer Data Sciences Shared Resource usage data; produces content for Cancer Data Sciences Share Resources town halls, presentations and meetings
Research Group Support: Provide support in the daily operations of the Chair's research group and research center: help with students, staff and faculty with travel and reimbursements; track financial expenditures; help with project management and journal submissions; maintain website for Center for Precision Health Data Science
Project Management, Pre-Award: maintain biosketch and Other Support documents for Chair; reads and interprets sponsor proposal guidelines; coordinates with research administrator on proposal budget and completion of documents for PAF; produces draft proposal documents for the Chair, including budget justification, facilities and resources, data tables, infographics, and reference lists for research strategy/project summary documents
General Administrative Tasks: Maintain and compile data for producing presentations for external and national advisory boards, core training and grant renewals, invited presentations
Recruitment and Hiring: Coordinate new hires and students for the research group (job postings, reviews CVs, schedules interviews and agendas, etc.)
Bachelor’s degree or relevant background and experience; 2-3 years of recent administrative experience
Proven ability to be responsible for fulfilling requests
Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills with a strong customer focus and an ability to interact with a wide variety of individuals
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills and an ability to work independently and to exercise judgment in setting priorities
Demonstrated ability to apply good judgment and handle confidential materials and situations with sensitivity and discretion is required
Good problem solving skills, initiative, flexibility and creativity
Proficiency in Adobe, Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
