The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is currently seeking a PM&R Activity and Mobility Program Coordinator to work on of a multi-site implementation and knowledge transfer activities. The work focuses on the implementation of the Johns Hopkins Activity and Mobility Promotion (JH-AMP) framework to address the harms of immobility in the inpatient hospital and post-acute setting. The position will include program development and project management domestically and internationally.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Assists in identifying and analyzing new project/program opportunities.
Recommends new projects/programs based on staff feedback, observable trends, benchmarks or other relevant data.
Oversee the implementation for large and complex and/or multiple quality improvement projects.
Oversee quality improvement activities for multiple studies and commercial implementation efforts.
Participates in situational analysis of the program/project including the following components.
resource utilization.
key stakeholders and experts to be involved.
key elements of success and potential barriers/challenges.
impact of the project on program goals.
Collects data regarding current practices through interviews, observations, literature review, bench marking.
Establishes concrete project goals, objectives and outcomes within a determined time frame.
Determines and manages a project timeline with specific actions to accomplish goals and outcomes.
Identifies and manages resources needed to complete action plan.
Assembles a team of project participants (as needed) based on technical expertise and interdisciplinary needs.
Collects/interprets data to monitor progress towards identified outcomes at predetermined intervals.
Adjusts action plan and timeline according to program needs.
Communicates regularly to faculty and staff regarding progress, barriers, expectations, goals and time frames.
Maintain a detailed knowledge of all implementation protocols and reporting requirements; adhere to all protocol requirements to ensure validity of clinical research data.
Participate in development, testing, and evaluation of manuals for the efficient implementation.
Participates in departmental strategic planning and problem solving.
Create presentations and present at meetings
Coordinate the training of other staff on study protocols, procedures, and reporting; performs other duties as assigned.
Leads clinician and technician training sessions.
Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Proficient in the use of computers, including software applications, databases, spreadsheets, and word processing.
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Independent and self-motivated.
Highly organized and detail oriented.
Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.
Individual must be a registered nurse, licensed in the State of Maryland or state where practicing.
Bachelor's Degree in nursing or related discipline preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree or 6 years of professional experience in healthcare systems, healthcare implementation, or management.
Experience project management, training and education.
