Associate Dean, Administration and Fiscal Affairs

Reporting to the Dean, the Associate Dean of Administration and Fiscal Affairs will lead the development and implementation of the College's integrated financial plan serving as a steward of resources and a trusted advisor to deans, faculty, and staff.
The Associate Dean of Administration and Fiscal Affairs is responsible for the management of financial and administrative functions and is a strategic partner in the development of all academic financial planning and policies for the College.
RESPOSIBILITIES:
Facilitate and guide the development of the College's annual operating and capital budget.
Develop short and long-term financial plans in accordance with the College's academic objectives and implement strategies to proactively problem solve and ensure balanced fiscal operations.
Monitor accounts and track pending transactions to forecast budget savings and and exposures
Collaborate closely with the Dean and faculty leadership in integrating academic and financial planning and ensuring that resources are deployed in a manner that is consistent with the overall strategic priorities of the College.
Serve as a liaison of the College to the University Human Resources Department and direct all personnel related requests and issues including new hire, termination, leave of absence, promotion, performance review, and other related issues.
Serve as a liaison of the College to the University Design and Construction and Facilities Department and assist in the financial management of capital projects, minor and major space renovation projects, space assignments and work closely with project managers and contractors.
Assist the Dean in the financial development of new program proposals.
Manage all contracts for the College including faculty contracts, educational affiliation contracts, graduate assistantship contracts, and other related legal matters.
Facilitate the allocation and tracking of graduate assistantships within the College.
Additional duties assigned by the Dean.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Advanced degree in Accounting, Management, Finance or other related fields preferred.
At least 5 years of financial management experience preferred.
Higher education background preferred.
Strong written and oral communication skills required, including an ability to communicate financial information and policy to others.
High level of analytical skills and the use of financial models, financial analysis, performance measures, and metrics to understand complex situations, inform decision making and communicate decisions.
Ability to build strong relationships, inspire creative thinking and encourage inclusive processes within a highly complex environment.
Demonstrated commitment to working with a diverse population of faculty, students and staff, and committed to a culture of professionalism with a customer service focus.
Advanced skills of Microsoft Office required, including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access.
Knowledge of Banner preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage an effective team and collaborate with others.
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual salary for this position is $146,664. St. John's University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
