As the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism embarks upon a new era of customer-focused IT services and support, we are seeking a methodical IT leader to re-organize, rationalize, and refocus our enterprise systems and team. Â
As the MIS Manager you will help lead and support the ongoing administration, maintenance and development of Annenbergâs IT-AV systems and infrastructure. You will lead and work closely with a team of IT administrators, IT/AV engineers, and consultants - responsible for change management, cyber-security, system design lifecycle and improvement, asset management, and user enablement across a range of administrative, academic, and multimedia production systems.
The successful candidate will have a record of success in IT administration, SDLC, network management, and cyber security. The specialist will work closely with functional leaders, operational units, and subject matter experts to identify, develop and deploy new enterprise-wide solutions. Working closely with our Helpdesk management team, you will structure, organize, and prioritize Tier 3 and Tier 4 user requests.
The role will be expected to work from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; is not OT eligible; and will be expected to frequently work alternate hours to provide essential systems troubleshooting, support, and maintenance.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
IT-AV Systems Administration and Maintenance.
Define IT infrastructure strategy, architecture, and processes.
Analyze business requirements by partnering with key stakeholders across the organization to develop solutions to meet IT requirements.
Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to internal IT-AV systems.
Lead a team of systems administrators, engineers, and consultants.
Align internal business processes and systems with central Cyber- Security framework and policies.Â
Assess vendors and develop test strategies for new hardware and software.
Lead cloud readiness and migration efforts.
Procurement and financial journaling for department purchases.
IT-AV asset management.
Define and support Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity efforts.
Stay informed of industry trends, latest practices, and emerging technologies.
Pursue continual skills development through online training, industry publications, and attending educational conferences, symposia, and training seminars.

Minimum three years of experience as a systems or network administrator
Completed bachelorâs degree in computer science, or equivalent professional certifications (MS Certified Professional/Systems Engineer, Certified Information Systems Security Professional, ITIL, Comp TIA Network+/Security+, Cisco Certified Network Professional, etc.)
Experience with cloud computing, architecture, and integrations
Proven ability to design and implement new processes and facilitate user adoption
Strong data management abilities
Data analytic and visualization skills, including strong Excel skills
Well rounded tech skillset, including: systems administration, application development and scripting, user support, and cloud implementation and integrations.
A documented history of successfully driving projects to completion
A demonstrated ability to understand and articulate complex requirements
Experience with academic processes preferred
Previous experience working in/with systems design lifecycle methodologies
