General Statement of Duties
The Senior Learning Specialist - Technical Programs Curriculum and Assessment Specialist maintains, develops, improves, aligns, coordinates, and delivers non-credit Technical Programs designed to prepare and/or advance students in technical fields including Advanced Manufacturing, Quality Systems, and Information Technology. Duties include developing curriculum, and teaching critical thinking and other necessary workforce skills using individualized, self-paced instruction and hands-on/experiential learning techniques. Alignment with funding source requirements including inclusion of appropriate credentialing and assessment as well as potential for articulation to college credit is required. Program coordination may require working with programs designed to prepare students for technical content including Adult Education, English Speaker of Other Languages, and secondary school programs.
Teach Non-Credit Technical Training courses offered through the Division of Lifelong Learning and Workforce Development.
Maintain current knowledge of industry trends including emerging recognized credentials and essential competencies.
Coordinate program activities including teaching critical thinking and other content within Advanced Manufacturing, Quality, and Informational Technology (IT) Training Programs, developing course curricula and instructional materials, and coordinating related aspects of the teaching program.
Maintain accurate electronic student records documenting student progress and outcomes.
Collaborate with employers and Subject Matter Experts to ensure developed curriculum meets skills and learning objectives required for local employment in Advanced Manufacturing, Quality, IT and related technical fields.
Develop and align Work-Based (Experiential) Learning and Registered Apprenticeship efforts with area employers and the MassHire Workforce System
Collaborates with other departments within the Division of Lifelong Learning and Workforce Development to ensure comprehensive education and training programming to diverse student populations.
Coordination of assigned staff including non-credit workforce instructors to deliver non-credit technical training programs.
Provide technical support for recruiting efforts.
Participate in technology showcases and community building activities coordinated by the college and/or the Division of Lifelong Learning and Workforce Development.
Support grant applications within the Division of Lifelong Learning and Workforce Development by providing technical expertise in support of local, state, and federal grant applications.
Participation in curriculum team under direction of VP of LLL/ WFD.
Coordination of curriculum development/revision, piloting, refining, & implementation process in collaboration with faculty curriculum specialists and industry content experts.
Production of on-line and technology-enabled curriculum products in collaboration with appropriate resources.
Collection, analysis and reporting of student and program assessment data.
Development of industry relationships to inform content requirements.
Perform curriculum reviews to ensure alignment of curriculum to meet current industry standards and employer needs while preparing students for credential attainment and potential credit articulation.

Master's degree in Critical Thinking or closely related field;
Three (3) years experience and/or training that includes program coordination, teaching, critical thinking instruction, curriculum development, and computer operations in a community college environment; or
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
PHD/Master's Degree in Technical Education or Applied Science (e.g. Chemistry, Biotechnology, IT), Engineering, or closely related field.
Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with diverse constituencies.
Knowledge of emerging technologies and their uses in an academic environment.
Previous experience developing and delivering industry training programs for adult learners.
Experience with online course management systems and successful project management experience .
